Mind Blank on IVF

Later today we have our first initial consultation for IVF.

Is there anything I need to know before going or ask the consultant?

Hi Hannas, I just wondered how you got on with your IVF consultation? I have PCOS and IVF is our next option if the meds don't work.

Hi Hope25, I had s really good appointment and they have advised I go in for a few more blood tests, a laparoscopy to help with my Endo, drilling for my PCOS and whilst they do all of that they are all going to flush my tubes.

Have you been advised about any treatment or straight on to tablets? x

That's good to hear that you had a good appointment They put me straight on to tablets for 6 months and then the next option is IVF

Write everything down

Ask for as much literature as they have

Grab and email for extra questions

Take someone else for extra ears. They may pick up things that you may not as it can be overwhelming.

Completely agree with this. Especially the extra ears.

All that information is so overwhelming and when you’re not familiar with the process can get muddled.

My husband came with me and the consultant was amazing with explaining everything and it turned out we are going to try alternatives first.

I went through my whole medical history and results of previous tests. x
