I had my embryo transfer last Tuesday and apart from some cramping that night, I've been fine since. However, yesterday morning, I started to get cramps like period pains which gradually grew worse. My stomach is majorly bloated and I had trouble sleeping as just can't get into a comfortable position. The top of my stomach is really hard too. I also find it hard to stand up straight as feel like I'm really stretching my stomach. Have felt a little nauseated but I generally do on the pessaries anyway.
I'm urinating fine but thought I should check with my clinic about late onset OHSS. They didn't seem concerned and said it's probably the pessaries, although they have been causing me this many issues until now.
Any ideas what it could be or what is best to help? I'm drinking lots and eating a lot of protein.
Thanks in advance

Hi Fjm. It could be that your ovaries are still a bit active. Make sure you drink plenty of water 3L a day and rest when you can, but little walks too. Take some paracetamol for any pain if you need to, but no anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Keep an eye on your urine output. Needs to be pale. If it decreases and becomes dark or you become breathless, you need to be checked over. Fingers crossed everything settles down and your cycle is successful. Diane
Hi Fjm_2, just wondering what the outcome of this was? Hope you're feeling better now. I'm 7 days post transfer and feel exactly the way you describe. Not sure whether to be worried or not. Thanks xxx
Hi, the outcome was I ended up in hospital for 3 days with moderate OHSS but on a positive note it is late onset due to a positive pregnancy test. Definitely get yourself checked if you're feeling the same. Mine did get worse and it's best to make sure you're being looked after! It's nothing to worry about as such, just not pleasant to go through. X
