Hi peeps, so I definitely had a negative. Today was my my OTD. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to say the least and really thinking of everyone here who is also having negative outcome but also congratulationing those who have been receiving positives.......Looking forward now is my therapy.........and already starting to think about embryo donors Has anyone had any experience of using embryo donors. Is it a long complicated process? Thanks in advance Xx
Embryo Donor: Hi peeps, so I definitely... - Fertility Network UK
Embryo Donor
Sorry to hear about your BFN. It is heartbreaking, take good care of yourself xx
I am using donor sperm and donor eggs rather than adopting already created embryos.
I honestly don’t know the process for embryo adoption but it may be something I look into in the future as syncing with donors and hoping you get enough eggs and good quality blastocysts is a frustrating and at times emotionally painful process.
I don’t know what the availability is of already created and donated embryos or how easy it is to adopt them but I’ll be interested in any responses you get.
Even though I had 2 great donors I still didn’t get any good quality embryos, so adopting a high quality embryo sounds appealing.
Being a donor egg recipient is a slow process and that was with using a clinic that has an active list of donors. I’ve heard of clinics in some parts of the country with long waiting lists for egg donors. I wish you the best of luck.
So sorry for your bfn, this is such a hard battle!! Sending you big hugs 🤗 xxx
Sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you this time.
I’m 42 and have had two failed cycles using my own eggs and donor sperm. I am just about to have FET with a donor embryo on Wednesday. The process was quite quick at my clinic. We had a consultant meeting, compulsory counselling session ( 2 week wait after his as a cooling off period) , paperwork sign off and choosing of our embryo and then I started the drugs. The choice of embryo at our clinic was out of 7-8 couples and we had their basic parameters, height, build eye colour and ethnicity - we were both amazed at the generosity of people and the choice was pretty easy. All in all it was pretty quick.... the wait for egg donation would have been 9 months. We took some time out after our last cycle which ended in a chemical pregnancy to consider our options and make sure it was the right thing for us.
It’s a big decision but it does offer the hope of a family. All the best to you xx
Wow that has sent me definitely a glimmer of hope thank you so much xxx
R u in the uk x
I don't know about donors but just to say I'm thinking of you. Xx
I'm really sorry about the BFN, and I hope you get lots of feedback and support in your search for an embryo donor x
Good luck to you. I hope things work out for. Opting for DE is a wonderful option. Is the clinic going to choose a DE for you or you will yourself? I dont think it is complicated if the clinic is experienced. Just stay strong! All the prayers are with you.
Thank you will keep this in mind thank you xx
I’m abit limited with funding but definitely worth thinking about thanks x
