Had a bath after egg collection - is that ok?

I just had a bath and had my egg collection this morning. Reading posts and panicking that I might get an infection. Or it would affect the pessaries working? Egg collection was today.

I was told I shouldn’t have a Bath or Shower that Day because you may get an Infection or Maybe Feel Drowsy Because of the Sedation but Im not sure about it Affecting the Pessaries Hun, You could Talk to the Nurses about it Didn’t they tell you to not have a Bath or Shower?

Thanks for replying. They didn't mention not having a bath at all. So I had one and then thought I'd double check here and saw a few posts. Gonna call them in the morning. So annoyed if that's the case. It's not on any of the paperwork or anything ...

If they didn’t tell you then it should’ve been Ok Hun don’t Worry about it, but if it gives you Relief just give them a Call Tomorrow, Good Luck Hun all will be Ok xx

Try not to worry, I'm sure any infection risk is very small. The main thing is not to have a bath after transfer because you really don't want an infection then, or to raise your body temp too much. By all means speak to the clinic tomorrow to out your mind at rest but I am sure it will be fine. Good luck with the rest of your cycle x

I hope things go well. I am sure the chances of injection are very low. Therefore, keep your fingers crossed. Call your nurse and ask. If it is not mentioned in your paperwork then dont worry. Good luck to you. Dont worry!

I was told it was because eggs are fragile and we use perfumes, etc etc in the bath that could affect the eggies ... I wouldn’t panick darling heart xx just breathe xxx

Don’t worry. Risk of infection is tiny. I went swimming with my niece and nephew at Centre Parcs the day following EC and I was fine. A bath is likely a lot more sanitary!

Hi there. After egg retrieval, you may experience cramping and feelings of fullness or pressure. I hope those didn't bother you much. As for the bath taken, the risk is tiny, I agree with above poster. I'm just hoping they got some beautiful eggs for fertilization. Do not panic. May god help you on your way. x
