Low Hcg result on OTD not clear if positive or negative result 😞 help.

Just looking for advice, we had our appointment today after a 5 day blatacyst transfer on the 13th. I tested before, I had to prepare myself. It was faint but positive, the same sample was used by them and they said it was negative. Just had a call about my bloods and it came back at 12, so I’m in limbo. They said I needed to carry on with pessaries and only stop if I bleed and have another blood test in a week. They are not hopeful I can tell. I did another test when I got home and it was positive. So am I pregnant or is this just another cruel example of what happens. If I’m not then I can move on but another week of torment seems horrendous to contemplate. X

So that makes you 10dp5dt...yes?! Unfortunately you are a bit in limbo. It could be that your hCG is on the rise, that you have a late implanter. However you need to be prepared for the fact that it may be a chemical pregnancy where the pregnancy has started to develop but stopped. Has you clinic not offered to repeat in 48 hours to see if its rising or falling? My hCG was only 48 on day 14 and mine went up, unfortunately we lost the pregnancy at 6 weeks. Sending hugs, not a nice situation to be in.xx

Thank you, I’m actually going to call them tomorrow to ask for earlier bloods because 1 week is too long and I would rather know if things are happening or not so I can prepare xx

I would too, its an awful long time to wait and if things are going in the right direction then they should see it starting to go that way....albeit they wont see a significant rise which is maybe their reasoning but it seems cruel to make you wait so long. I really feel for you!! Hope they agree to do another test for you sooner!xx

Under 5 is not pregnant over 25 is pregnant 6-24 is a grey area they should really retest as hcg is supposed to double in 48 hours. Hopefully it’s just really early and your hcg will increase xx
