Expanding vs hatching ? What’s the difference

This is the email I received off the Embryologists.

“One of your frozen embryos was an expanded AB embryo and the other was hatching. You’re right we only freeze good embryos”

What’s the difference between expanding and hatching ?

Hey, the hatching means that its coming out of its "shell" (zona pellucida) and the other means that it is fully formed with a thinning of the "shell". They sound good!! Ive copied in a couple of links below which hopefully helps you make sense of it all, it has come pics too.xx
