Partial or full Fallopian tube removal? Advise please! X

Dear all,

I am so sorry to keep banging on about this, but I need some further reassurance as I am getting conflicting advice about the removal of my hydrosalpinx, and my operation is on 15th April!

Below is the advice from two different fertility doctors:

Option 1: Remove the entire Fallopian tube to prevent another hydrosalpinx from growing. The tube is damaged and completely useless, so there is no point in keeping part of it. It could lead to infection and continued build-up of fluid so removal all of it.

Option 2: Disconnect the Fallopian tube, drain the fluid and remove part of it. If you remove the entire Fallopian tube, the blood supply to the ovary can significantly reduce quantity of eggs and in a few years you could have less eggs. Better to disconnect it, rather than full removal, to preserve your fertility.

Any further advise on this would be much appreciated. Does anyone have experience of this? What did your doctor advise? I am so confused.

Thank you x

My consultant removed part of my tube and left the stumpy bit to keep the blood supply. It depends on where the hydro is as well I suppose. Good luck xx
