Folate or Folic Acid - is there a difference?

Quick question if I may. A friend recently told me folate is much better than using folic acid. Is that correct? Has anyone else noticed a difference between them?

Hi Rainbowhope, I’ve tried to figure out this question too. Folate is easier absorbed into the body but a very few types of women can’t absorb it properly. I take both. I take 500ug of folic in the morning and then my pregnancy multivitamin in the afternoon and evening. The pregnancy multivitamin contains the folate (200ug per tablet). I asked my clinic if this was ok to do and they said yes.xx
