Anyone due to have a laparoscopy in May!?
Hi Faith. Oh bless you, it is an anxious time, but I'm sure the anaethetist and specialist will look after you, and you will be back home before you know it. Let's hope it reveals some answers and you can soon carry on with whatever prescribe treatment you need. Thinking of you. Diane
I had a laparoscopy about 6 years ago. It was absolutely fine and was over so quick. You will need a few days to take it easy afterwards but I didn’t really feel any pain xx
Thanks Sarah! That's good to hear hope it was worthwhile xx
I had mine done as they thought I had an ovarian cyst but when they did it, it had gone. Turns out they should have scanned me again first, so for me it was pointless really but hope u get some answers xx
Hi I’m currently on the waiting list and have been for 5 weeks, hopefully it will be done in the next 4 weeks however can take upto 16 at my clinic xx
Hi! Thanks for getting in touch. Fingers crossed yours will be shortly too then! Do let us know if you hear anything is it your first?? Is it for endo investigations or something else do you mind me asking? X
No course I don’t mind, I’m hoping to get a cancellation 🤞🏻 yes it’s my first im having a dye test done too while I’m under. Yes it’s for endo. I’ve also emailed this week for a hysterocopy to be added to the laparoscopy if possible to help look at my lining as I’m having issues with the thickening. X
Ahh Thanks for coming back to me. I'm having a dye test too! How do you know that your having issues with the thickening? I've not got my pre op until end of April but I may try and see if they have an earlier appointment for that so I can perhaps get an earlier op that suits although the date they have pencilled in for me suits quite nicely! The earlier date was uncertain because it was v close to the pre op assessment which meant that if they hadn't received my pre op assessment results, that date would have likely been cancelled. So felt it better to wait another month than to try and push through something I've not got control over! Xx
Ye I had my pre op 2 weeks ago but looks like I’m going to have to have that again as I’ve not had a cancellation as yet 😬 and pre op at my clinc is only viable if surgery takes place within 4 weeks. I was on clomid for 3 months prior.... month 1, I conceived however since my periods have become lighter & lighter (only 1-2 days) and I’ve have folicule tracking which confirmed that my lining was thin.... xx
I see! Thank you - see my comment below too, id been reading some if your past posts xx interesting that you may need a pre op again! I was told the other day that it lasts up to 3 months but not sure if this changes depending on if you work within a hospital or perhaps different hospitals have different requirements but here in Wales I believe it to last for 3 months xx
Hi sorry, I've just been reading a few of your past posts. It looks like you've been through a lot I can see why it's been highlighted that your lining may need to be looked at so don't worry about having to explain everything to me lovely xx were TTC now over 2 years, looking forward to the op as much as I'm not which feels a bit strange! In this journey, you have to do what you have to do hey! Xx
Hi lovely, I am having my first one end of April so we can be surgery buddies ☺️
Yay! Well not good that your having surgery of course but nice to know. Hope it goes well for you and your recovery is smooth. Are they looking for anything in particular? Xx
Thank you! They did a HSG and found a huge hydrosalpinx on my right tube, so I am having it removed. The procedure will also determine if I have endometriosis. Very nervous, but IVF success rate is dramatically reduced (about 50%) if I have a blocked tube so I need to remove it before transfer....if I have a transfer. Waiting for egg collection results next week. Super nervous xx
Omg 50% difference!!! You HAVE to get it sorted youre right. Very sensible to be sorting that first. We're in the same boat in the sense that they are looking for endo prior to referring us onto IVF. Good luck for your egg collection lovely xx
