Success stories on poor embryo delevopment

Hi everyone.

So we had our egg collection on Monday, they retrieved 36 eggs, 23 which fertilised.

I need some encouragement/success stories. Just had our day 5 update on our embryos.

On day 3 he said we had around 5 which were 7-9 cell with a few just behind developing that should catch up by Saturday.

Well he has just phoned..He said there are around 7 but they are not developing how they should, but he’s going to give another 24 hours to see what they do, but it didn’t sound very promising 😢 we are having to do a freeze all cycle as I was at high risk of OHSS and also may have a polyp.

He said if there are going to be any to freeze expect low numbers.

Has anyone else had this then gone onto have success? I’m absolutely gutted, out of 36 eggs and it’s not even looking hopeful for 1 😩

Hey Sophie 😊

I was in a similar situation and had to freeze all due to OHSS. We had 16 eggs collected, 11 were mature and 7 fertilised. Two of them made it to day five and we’re due to have our transfer this month so don’t give up hope, there’s still a chance! 💕 xxx

My first cycle was in Dec. We had 10 eggs, 6 fertilized and on day 5 they called and told us only 2 are remaining and growing slowly and they need go give it one more day to see how it goes. The others had stopped growing. On day 6 they confirmed both are OK now and ready for pgs. We got one pgs normal and hence are repeating stimms to get more. There are times when that one extra day give a nice push and help the little ones to grow. Wish you all the best and hope everything goes fine 😀

I had 2 rounds of ivf, 1st round they collected 25 eggs and second round 15 eggs. Of the 2nd round only 2 were good enough at day 5 after 13 progressing well at day 3. I had 1 embryo transferred and 1 frozen and we now have a nearly 14 month old baby girl. Don’t lose hope it only takes 1 to get your miracle.
