All over for us.

Sadly we haven’t had good news at our scan today, it looks as if the pregnancy has begun but not continued. Again no signs anything was wrong but it’s probably due to the pessaries. At 41 and ending our fourth round here I’m seriously thinking this is the end of the road here for us. How much longer do you go on hoping and trying.

Ahh its awful sad news were going through the same not a viable pregnancy again will be getting it removed on saturday as its not making any effort to miscarry im nearly 12w this will be my 3rd in a row. My pregnancies have been natural so having ivf or other treatments this must be so much harder. Sending love xx

Thank you for your reply and I am so sorry to hear and read that you are going though such an awful time too.

This is our second bfp and both have now ended in same way.

Wishing you well for Saturday xxx

How far on are you? did they say any reason why? not like they usually have any idea.

No reason really - perhaps we can explore more at our follow up. This time we were only 7 weeks along as opposed to 12 last time xxxx

I've had 2 blightened and 1 got to 9w then stopped but I dont miscarry til much later which I feel is so much harder as you dont know theres anything wrong and I feel I've wasted 6 weeks with this pregnacy which I could have been recovering and preparing my body to try again possibly for the last time as I dont think we can take much more mentally. Ive been referred but probably there'll be no answers.

Def so much harder when you are unaware nothing is wrong. This is so tough and I feel we may be coming to the end of our strength to keep going xx

Just to say, when we saw our recent consultant, he was talking about if the sperm isn’t the best, but the eggs are a better quality, then the egg can balance out the sperm issues.

Sperm issues can also cause miscarriages.

It might be worth looking into Sperm Comet testing, just to tick all the boxes of checks?

I mentioned about checking sperm but the nurse said they wouldn’t as we can conceive so be less likely sperm. Honestly I don’t think it’s right I’m going to try to push for it. I need to write a list of what tests have been mentioned.

It’s so annoying that you have to fight for tests that should be provided. Go to as many medical people you need to until you get the referral you want- use tears as well if need be!!

For guys there are the semen samples, semen analysis and the comet sperm dna test.

The sperm comet test we paid for as part of the donor package we are going to do, but they do have their own website if you google it and mention places that do the testing should you want to it privately...

So sorry, its very painful. I suggest you don't try to answer the question about whether to stop or continue immediately. Can you take some time off, grieve, look after yourself really well, talk with people you trust, etc. And make the decision later in a more rested frame of mind? I wish you love and strength xxx

So sorry to hear this - I’m just going through my 7th loss, one was a missed miscarriage. Don’t make any decisions whilst you are grieving this loss - take some time to consider your options. Take care of you xx

I am so sorry to read this. Things aren't going well for us as well. All my previous treatments have failed. I haven't even got a single BFP. We took a break for some time. Now we are visiting a different clinic to give IVF another try. I am hoping that it would work for us. Things are just getting tougher and tougher.

Oh my love I’m so sorry to hear this. Perhaps a new clinic might be able to offer new possibilities for you. I’m so sorry you are going through such a tough time, my heart goes out to you xxxx

Hi Emma

So sorry to hear of this (!) It's devestating... And possibly worse if you had no inkling of symptoms

We lost our embies a week after a bfp - massive blood loss and cramping while we were out in London celebrating 😔

Our first ever bfp in 9 years

Please don't rush into anything - allow yourself some time to heal and grieve and you will be more ready to make a decision

Am curious why you feel it's to do with the pessaries ? Unless you were bleeding or spotting a lot it doesn't necessarily suggest you need an increase in progetsserone although given your age I would hope they are giving you higher oestrogen and progesterone anyway.

I was also going to ask if you have been tested for thrombophilia /blood clotting issues and thyroid ?

Both are crucial for early pregnancy and often one of the biggest causes of failed implantation and early miscarriage/ stunted emrbyos development

Thyroid TSH should be below 2.5 when TTC - you may need replacement thyroid hormone to bring the level down

and if you have thyroid antibodies (TPO or TGAB) then steroids can help reduce the autoimmune attack on an embryo

blood thinners often help even if you don't have a specific clotting problem.

If you do decide to try again it's worth asking about both x

Thank you for your reply - I meant the pessaries probably held back any bleeding not that they had caused the issue - sorry for the confusion!

I take daily Clexane to thin the blood and support implantation and both our bfp have come from these rounds with Clexane .

I’m sorry for you loss too this journey is harrowing at times xxx
