Pcos?: Anyone have PCOS with amh on 2... - Fertility Network UK
Pcos?
Hi. Have you had any other bloods done to see if you ovulate? I have a high AMH not quite as much as yours but in the 20s and on pretreatment scan had an antral follicle count of 17 on one ovary and 19 on other and they class anything over 12 as PCO, however have regular periods and day 2 and day 21 bloods were normal. Since I was in my early 20s always suffered with acne and a few years ago got referred to dermatologist as I had that much oil on my face looked like someone had tipped chip pan over me and they gave me some tablets called roaccutane (think it’s spelt like that) but you can’t take them while trying to concieve. They sorted the oil but still get some spots. I’ve not been told I’m PCOS due to regular periods and the bloods but that I am at risk of OHSS now I’m on stim, so far no signs of that. Maybe if you’ve had no other bloods tests done then you should ask for these xx
My AMH is really high at 66. I don’t have a PCOS diagnosis as periods are regular and my follicles don’t have the characteristic PCOS pattern. I’m also at risk of OHSS and in stims phase (currently day 6 of stims). I’m on a really low dose and so far, so good. My first scan is on Monday, so we’ll see.
Hello lovely, your amh is at a good level, my consultant explained it the other day because I do have pcos on only one of my ovaries.
<3 = very low
3-8 = low
9-25 = satisfactory
26-40 = optimal
40+ = high
The higher you are the more follies you are going to get the the higher your amh level will leave to pcos but they can tell you straight away when doing your scan if you have pcos they did wil me, if you have more than 12 follicles in your ovaries then you more than likely will have ocos. But you can be having you AF and not be ovulating. So speak with your doctor and get them to do day 21 blood test and they will be able to confirm or not. Hope this helps xxx
Hi I agree you need to have other bloods done to be sure to check you’re ovulating and testosterone levels etc. I had regular periods, never missed one but now realise they were actually quite light and sometimes just spotting and I guess those months were probably not ovulatory. I have the extra follicles on ovaries and high AMH of 63 but no other symptoms. You can even be diagnosed with PCOS and not have the follicles if you meet two of the other criteria.
However from my reading AMH of 28 isn’t even considered high (over 40 is) so I wouldn’t expect you to have PCOS but I’m obviously not an expert! Xx
I must have some sort of hormonal imbalance though, terrible bloating around ovulation and Af, oily skin and spots and Infertile!! xx
Yes potentially. Have you had a full hormone profile? Eg on day 3 they test FSH/LH/AMH/testosterone/TSH/progesterone? This will help to see any issues. It’s very confusing isn’t it? I’ve been told I have atypical PCOS don’t even know what that means! Xxx
But bloating and pain around ovulation can also be totally normal too! Just some women get stronger signs they are ovulating (have you been diagnosed with PCO as you have extra follicles on the scan?)
Yeh I’ve been told I have PCO x but I don’t really understand what this means or if it effect ttc x
So probably a bit of a hormone imbalance. Have you managed to get them to prescribe you clomid or letrazole? This can often balance things out. Also try a very low GI diet, get the Joe Wicks book it’s amazing and Agnus cactus drops...all supposed to help with levelling hormones. I’m trying progesterone cream this month too, I’ll try anything before IVF next year xx
I have pco. I have had acne since I was about 14. My amh is very high. I’m lucky that my period is regular and I do ovulate. Other characteristics of pcos besides irregular bleeds and not ovulating, are infertility, excessive hair growth on the face, back, chest.. and also weight gain. In the last two years I’ve gained a lot of weight. I put it partly down to ivf treatments xx
Something wrong with me I’m around Ovulation and since yesterday anything I need I’m bloating out to the extent I can hardly walk
Hello... I have the same, my skin has been a hormonal wreck since i came off the pill 7 years ago. I was scanned and had blood tests for pcos, was told im all clear. When i tried IVF for the firt time and had day 5 scans I was told I have too many follicles on each ovary, my consultant diagnosed me with PCO as my cyles are regar and Ovulation tests have been positive.
Its horrible before and during ovulation im bloated and sore.. i also breakout during ovulation and during my period..
A nightmare!
I hope you can manage the symptoms x
This sounds same as me how have you managed tbe symptoms? Have you been told PCO doesn’t effect ttc x
I have two children.. both conceived naturally while i was in my 20’s.
Iv been trying now for 7 years and really struggled, we had a failed IVF cycle earlier this year and now are at loggerheads as to what to do next. I have been told my PCO is mild but it still does affect ttc.
Iv been on clomid and that just made my skin worse and period heavier...
You have been told PCO does effect ttc? I have been told the opposite :/
Yes i was told his affected ttc as toi many follicles prevents one if them from having the space to grow big enough and mature properly before its released. Iv been told my PCO is mild as my hormone profile seems fine but I di have alot of symptoms of PCOS such as hair growth in chin and bad skin... my symptoms seem to be worsening!
So what do we do to improve this :/. Xx
Im taking zita west inositol, this helps with pcos, also try to eat a clean diet, plenty of fruit and veg and cut iut refined sugar and white cars as much as possible.
Il be honest i struggle, I have low moods and tend to reach for something sweet as a pick me up. There are lots of pcos diets online you can look at for some inspiration and ideas. Research suggests a good well balanced diet really helps us PCO ladies x
But what about ttc part? Can I do anything to improve that z
