So delighted to get a BFP last week after the 2ww. News has not set in at all, both of us are overwhelmed with joy (and fear). Feel like I need to do a test every day between now and 7 week scan which is now the next bit of the wait. Is it ok to do exercise like swimming during this next few weeks?

I’m really not sure about swimming so I wouldn’t risk it unless you’ve been given the go ahead. Congratulations xx

Congratulations .... its the best news ever for you im sure🙂. I know what you mean by fear and doing the tests....its what i did lol. Im 8 weeks tomorrow (god willing)

Re swimming... i loved swimming but when i started the IVF treatment i gave it up (atleast until i know its safe to) im not risking anything...especially as it took this long to get to this stage. I think for infection reasons they advise not to, especially in the early stages.

Enjoy every minute of it hun. Hope you have a healthy and happy pregnancy! Celebrate xxx

Ps. I found the 3WW (until the 7 week scan) obviously longer than the 2WW. Do what ever makes you happy, chilled out and relaxed.

Well done let the embryo do the hard work now while you take a back seat xxx

Thankyou for the advice and congrats! Visited the clinic today to get more Crinone. They have said swimming is fine but I think I might stick to walking the dog for now till I (finger and toes crossed) get successfully past the scan date. Best of luck with your pregnancy too!

Congratulations 💐

I also don't know if swimming is ok at this stage but as tugsgirl said, I wouldn't risk it.

Congratulations! :D

Re swimming, I would ask the clinic or your GP. I think there's some kind of risk of infection.

Hi Ivy-38. Lovely news, now to look forward to your scan to meet your little one. I wouldn’t go swimming as you could pick up an infection. Gentle exercise, perhaps a walk until you know all is well. Good luck! Diane

Just seen Diane replied (sorry hadn’t seen this before my reply!!) 🙃

Congratulations on your good news.

My best advice is to take the pregnancy one day at a time - “ today I am pregnant, tomorrow I might not be, but today I am & will be happy.

The early weeks are difficult & you will worry, I hope your scan can put your mind at ease.

I’m 9 weeks & still have my wobbly moments, I think it is because we have fought so hard to get there.

All the best with your pregnancy xoxo

Congratulations💝 when I received my first ever BFP I was the same and I was testing every day or other day and with different brand tests🙈it was making me so happy to do so, I’ve waited so long for my positive hpt that when this happened I wanted to see a line on different tests. I really enjoyed this testing play 🤣 so do it if you feel for it.

I was pretty active in my pregnancy (IVF) too, I was swimming, cycling almost as far as being 6 months pregnant, I was even riding a motorbike both myself independently and as a passenger on back seat! I believe that if its healthy pregnancy and meant to stick having active type of life style is great for both mother and baby and won’t do any harm. It was my happiest moment in my life really 😁

Of course check with your midwife and doctors and be reasonable but having active life style especially if you were like this before pregnancy should not harm you xxx

What fantastic news!! Really pleased for you!🎉😘 xx

Yay, that's brilliant news. Well done. I am not sure when it's ok to start swimming. But in terms of exercise it should be gentle compared to what you are used to - so it depends on what your body is used to doing.

Such good news. Good luck with the next stage xxx
