Hi ladies, i’m hoping someone may be able to shed some light for me. Having one of those days where everything is a worry - please feel free to tell me if i’m worrying over nothing! 🙈
I have been TTC for 12months, currently awaiting further investigations with NHS. Regular 30 day cycles, PCO but not PCOS. Light periods, late ovulation (day 21). Never been pregnant.
Ive noticed before but now more and more that I get pain low down in my pelvis (where my uterus is) thats difficult to explain, the only comparison I can attribute it too is like trapped wind. Its worse when im sitting all hunched over, and even more so when I suck in my stomach. TMI but when I do manage to pass wind it eases a little but quickly returns. It maybe happens 4-5 times during my cycle and passes after a few hours.
Am I so consumed by fertility faff that its actually nothing, just regular trapped wind? I definitely feel it all in my uterus area rather than elsewhere in my stomach.
Or is this something that could be linked my my fertility? PCO? Or possible endometriosis? Or something else? Please help re-assure if you can xx

I've not had anything similar so I can't advise but it does not sound comfortable for you. I hope you get some answers when you have further investigations.
It's good you have shared this with the team doing your investigations. It does sound like just wind, I get it low down too, but they will know better with your history if it is relevant or not
I too have PCO on my right ovary and every month around ovulation I have a very similar pain to the what you describe, but on the right side only. It lasts about 4 days and some time it really hurts, sometimes I can just feel it.
Doctors tell me it’s normal, and probably ovulation pain.
I think it can be due to my PCO on the right side. Somethink like having too many follicles developing causing pressure in the right ovary. But this is just my guess for myself.
Do you have PCO both sides? Both sides hurt? It’s the pain around ovulation?
Thank you so much for your detailed reply. I do have PCO both sides, both considered ‘mild’ but right worse than left. The ‘trapped wind pain’ does feel more central.
I normally notice it more about a week before my period, but ive noticed it a few times this month.
Thats reassuring though that the Drs think its normal. I will mention it when i go for my appointment. Maybe slightly dramatic but i feel like it feels like my body is just rejecting anything that could possibly get me pregnant 😞🙈 xx
Hi I think this sounds like trapped wind or IBS so you could try cutting some foods out. I’m lactose intolerant and when I’m strict with diet I tend to get no wind. The way I knew/strong suspicion I had endometriosis as the IBS symptoms were horrendous during my period eg incredibly painful trapped wind, urination, bowel movements etc so I wouldn’t worry too much if it doesn’t flare up during your cycle every month (and the pain is pretty severe with endo!) hope you get some answers! Xxx
