Pain after orgasm 2ww

Anyone had really bad cramps after orgasm? I’m talking really really bad pain. I’m scared I’ve ruined things by having sex now that I feel like this. I know it’s my uterus contracting and that’s normally what happens after an orgasm but this pain is INTENSE.

I had this once on my 2ww I wouldn’t worry about it too much! If it could do harm they would advise you not to have sex ! Xx

I didn't think you were suppose to have sex straight after transfer and during the 2ww. Well my clinic says it's a no no. But I hope everything's ok, everything down there like your ovaries etc will be swollen so maybe that's why your having pain xx

Our clinic said it was fine to have sex, it’s on the sheet they’ve given me. It’s too late now anyway, just have to hope everything is ok.

I'm sure it will be, hope the pain has gone away now xxx

I don’t know much about IVF, but I don’t think you’ve ruined your chances. Perhaps it’s things just calming down from the whole procedures? I’m sure the other ladies can throw more light than me!

When women who aren’t planning a pregnancy they have sex regularly & it doesn’t prevent pregnancy occurring!

I think that if a pregnancy is viable there is very little you can do to harm it.

All the best with your 2ww hope it’s successful 😘 xoxo

We’re advised not to. But if your clinic say it’s fine then hopefully it is. Perhaps it’s just extra sensitive because of procedures and drugs xx

Both my clinics have advised no sex during the 2ww but if yours has, then I'm sure you will be fine. Your body has been through a lot so could be from the procedures, it can take a little while for every thing to go back to normal. Wishing you luck in your 2ww xx

Thanks for the replies but not very reassuring to hear what your clinics have said now that it’s happened. I guess I was looking for reassurance but now I feel even worse!!

My clinic says it’s fine to have sex, just not on day of transfer.

I reckon it’s prob just the muscles. I’m glad you felt you could do it, I’ve been putting it off as it’s a mess down there with these pessaries I’m using!

Thank you for your message- I do the pessaries the other way- no mess and once the first ones over it’s not so bad!!

I have a whole website I'm working on dedicated to this

! It truly affected the quality of my life and was even happening when I had sex dreams. I would orgasms in my sleep and be woken up by the pain. I'm still working on the website and my therapist and doctor are writing contributions. I also have a contact form on there and am available through here for support.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve looked at the website after getting excited that someone could relate but sadly our symptoms are very different :(

Yes a similar type of pain but the causes are very different! Mine is after I have ovulated, I’m fine the other two weeks of the month.

As in it is a physiological rather than a psychological issue, but thank you anyway 😊

My clinic advised no sex until 12 week scan if positive. It was hard but we managed it. You will just have to ask your clinic. Xx
