Hey Danni, I dont blame you! Add the area of where you live so we can PM you! Well I probably cant as Im in Scotland but other will!xx

Agreed, and I too am in Scotland. Some areas of the UK have more choice than others. It also depends how far you can travel as with all the scans etc it is best to be nearby xx

Why don't you have a look at the human fertilisation and embryo authority (HFEA) website? hfea.gov.uk/choose-a-clinic/

They survey all the UK clinics, also providing statistics on success rates (pregnancy, live births, multiples) and with (at least for me) useful breakdowns for maternal age, IVF/ICSI, and other parameters. It helped us a lot to narrow down the choices before asking here for feedbacks (first-hand experiences always speak more than numbers!)

Hi Danni I used the clinic you were at for some basic routine tests (sperm analysis, ovulation testing then clomid) so didn't go as far as you have. I didn't find them terrible but I didn't think they were amazing (is that what we'd call just a 'meh'?!). We always had to wait ages to be seen when we turned up for appointments. I'll pm you my experience of others xx

Yes! I have to wait about a month in between appointments... 3 months in and nothing has happened. How long did it take for you to be seen and progress roughly from start to transfer?xxx

Hi Danni, we just had the tests I mentioned above privately and then moved to the nhs clinic for our actual cycle (on the advice of the consultant you are seeing). In all honesty I'd say the nhs one took a year from start to finish for first cycle. They did fob us off a bit, but the clinic were nice & very efficient when we did eventually get into it. From our referral for ivf to actually doing it was only a matter of months (all the previous stuff were repeated bloods, sperm analysis, hsg etc). In the 2nd clinic I mentioned in my message (which was a private cycle) we had our first consultation on 4th Dec and then had egg collection on 9th Jan. We were amazed by this, and really grateful - all the waiting around sends me crazy! Not sure if this is normal, but if you're paying you should be able to dictate expected timescales I think, not the other way round. To have to wait months and months for a private cycle is not right. The clinic we had our 2nd round in were very clear & open with us about timescales from day 1 xxx
