Hi guys, I hope everyone is keeping well. Just a question with regards to private clinics. I've been with the NHS and was going to stay with them and pay privately but unfortunately they keep getting things wrong and I just cant trust them 😔 really wasted my time. They said my AMH was high but are now saying its not as they gave me another patients blood results by mistake - this is after I got a really bad infection from my hysteroscopy as the surgeon was unaware I had endometriosis which makes me higher risk. So now I don't really know where to start. Does the clinic need to be really local to me? I can't seem to find any close by. If anyone can private message me any good clinics around London/Surrey with prices I would really appreciate it 🙏💫♥️

Hi Littlepeax,
So sorry you’ve had bad luck with your clinic but 100% sounds like you’re making the right decision moving somewhere else. I know it’s a bit of a minefield when you start to look 🤪
I initially used a clinic local to me and it was very impersonal and a much more old school approach. When we moved, we decided on a clinic in London, it was much more progressive and personal and the best decision we made. Was worth the extra travelling! I’ll pm you details xx
Hi Littlepea. No, a clinic doesn't ave to be nearby, but remember any travelling that might be involved. I expect you have had a look at the HFEA website to check out some clinics. hfea.gov.uk Perhaps some ladies here will PM you with their experiences. Thinking of you. Diane
My clinic is in Surrey (Guildford). But it’s affiliated to Kings Fertility so that’s where egg collection & ET happens. We travelled in today for EC and it was very straightforward.
My NHS cycle was at Guys Hospital, London. I do prefer my current clinic as it’s much more supportive! My consultant just phoned me to see how EC went. Sorry to hear your experience has been suboptimal. It’s horrid if you don’t feel you can trust them. But private is costly! Maybe write a letter to your nhs clinic and feedback their crapness?? I’d want to know if I worked there (ps NHS doctor myself 😉) x
I also had a really bad experience with a South East London NHS hospital (for 2 long years!) and started looking for private in Surrey/London. I used the HFEA clinic finder - it has reviews and data on success rates and is really helpful. You can also read inspection reports on there. In the end I've gone for one a little further away that I had a good feeling about after reading reviews and going to an open evening. Some do free open evenings which can help. The cost can vary so much depending on what you need but you can ask for a price list from most of them. Mine will be about £8k I think.
Wow! They gave you another blood patient result!! Can't believe it!
Go for clinics who have high results with older patients.
Also take into account how long it takes to travel to the clinic. During my 12 days treatment I had to travel 6 times.
Hello ladies,
Chelsea & Westminster hospital have a ACU for both NHS & private patients.
I picked it for our treatment because it had a good reputation. It’s small, friendly, I feel like the staff really care about you, and I’ve been very happy with all my treatment xx
