Long protocol

Hi all

I am due to start long protocol later this month, having had an unsuccessful short protocol/FET in 2017.

I am somewhat concerned about the impact of medication (Prostap and Norethisterone) on me, before I go on to ovarian stimulation (Bemfola/Menopur), and the general ups and downs of the treatment.

I would welcome any suggestions for the long protocol you may wish to share with me. Thank you.

Hey,

I’m on a long protocol currently (my first IVF cycle so I’m no expert). I had Buserelin first, then Menopur alongside it.

Just had my stimulation jab yesterday for collection tomorrow! 🙏

I felt more & more tired on the Buserelin and developed a splitting headache after about a week which hasn’t gone.

I’m better if I rest a lot and it’s helped me to have let my work know in advance (as it’s been easier to explain why I’ve been off sick). I think they’ve been more understanding as they’ve been in the loop. I also told a couple of close friends & work colleagues - again for support when I need it. I’d recommend having people in the know so you can vent if you need to.

I’ve been off my usual foods, wanting light meals and white meat/fish only - go with what you feel like. Finally keep your fluids up!

I hope this helps. I can’t be specific about the initial medication you mentioned as mine was different - perhaps different side effects?
