Questions to ask Clinic when choosing where to go??

Hi, any one who has done research in to choosing clinics abroad - does anyone have a list of questions to ask them? Would you mind sharing with me? Thank you xxx

I didnt ask specific questions as such. I contacted them and gave them a brief history and asked for more information on the ones that I liked the sound of or had recommendations for. I think the main thing when comparing is the costs, make sure for example that you have costed out meds for you and if you are using donor eggs/sperm costs for they're drugs/sperm, egg freezing, embryo transfer......make sure you are comparing like for like. Also how good are they at responding to you, how is communication? How easy flights and accommodation are to get from where you live, do they have flights year round? A lot of the clinics do skype consultations so you can speak to someone and get a feel for them which I think is important too.xx

Here are the questions I came up with.

1.Do you have English speaking staff?

2.What are your success rates?

3.Do you offer a guaranteed number of embryos?

4.What is the cost of egg donation?

5.What are the additional costs?

6.What is the average age of your donors and how much information would be available to us about them?

7.How do you choose who will donate?

8.Would the donor be sharing eggs with other women?

9.How long would we need to spend in Spain?

10.Could initial consultation be via Skype and is there a cost for this?

11.What if we get no eggs?

12.What tests do we need to have repeated?

13.Do you always plan for a fresh cycle?

14.Is there an extra cost for a frozen cycle?

15.Is there an extra charge for ICSI or is it standard procedure?

16.How many embryos do you transfer and on what day?

17.Would I need to do a mock cycle first?

18.How do you down regulate?

19.What happens if my lining isn’t right?

20.What scans do I have before to check lining?

I also went on how much they answered my questions and how quickly they responded. I thought initially that an English co-ordinator was more of a plus but then at my clinic they have all been Spanish and it hasn't been an issue at all.

I had a meeting with a clinic from Greece who regularly visit London and it was good to get a free face to face consultation - if you can do that for a few clinics if they come to London for information days it would be amazing. The one we spoke to didn't have any success rates, I am very wary of success rates. I only wanted to know our chances.....

I haven't got any other advice as we never went ahead in the end as got a BFP.
