ET for first time tomorrow

This is my first post. Feeling really nervous for tomorrow's day 5 transfer. I have read a lot about gradings and such like but all I know is that the embryologist said they were doing well on day three and they wanted to develop them to day 5. Really hoping to get a couple to freeze but no idea of their quality, will they tell me tomorrow??

Hi KC26, my 5 day transfer is tomorrow too! May the embryos be in our favours. My clinic said exactly the same. I’m told that more information will follow tomorrow. I’m in at 8:30am...what time are you in? I will be thinking of you x

Ah thanks, good to know I'm in same position as others. I'm on at 12.30. I only had 4 embryos so just praying they've all made it! Do you know if we meant to have a full bladder??

Hello ladies best of luck to you both. A "comfortably" full bladder is recommended but difficult to achieve. It is the most uncomfortable part of the procedure. Try to appreciate how fascinating it all is. You should get to see your wee embryo. I am a scientist and therefore enjoyed how futuristic it was. Amazing. Then back to the couch with your feet up.xx

Thanks! The DH has plans to take me out for lunch after. Is this a good idea??? Will I feel up to it??

Absolutely. You will need a big pee but will feel nothing worse than that. I know it sounds odd but try to enjoy. It could be the start of something amazing.xx

I was told to drink two pints of water an hour before the transfer. I’ve heard of people who have gone out for lunch or a little shopping trip after but from what my two friends who’ve had successful IVfs have suggested it’s best to go home and relax at last for day one. I’m feeling really nervous now! Xx

I believe as long as you don’t empty your bladder within the hour before you should be ok. My OH takes all advice very literal, & drank loads of water before transfer, & was busting for a pee by the time they called us in. 😂 It worked out ok, but if there was any delay she probably would have had to pee & would have been completely empty!

Just drink a pint of water gradually in the hour leading up (DP took a bottle of water with her to drink in the car & when we were waiting).

Good luck! The fact that they have waited till day 5 is a good sign, as they clearly thought the embryos were developing well enough to make it to this stage. 🤞🏼🍀

Well it all went well, I've now got one top quality blastocyst embryo on board. Unfortunately two of the others didn't make it and the final one they giving until tomorrow to see if it is good for freezing. Hope all went ok for you guys who also had transfer today?

Hi hun, one made it out of six of mine. So they’ve transferred it. I test on the 13th? When is your OTD? Baby dust and a massive prayer for the little embryos to stick! We got to see the cathetar go in and saw the embryo flash across and into the womb!

Same with me, test on the 13th! I thought it would be two weeks form today so was surprised when they said the 13th. We saw the embryo before it went in and it was pretty fascinating. As they say, it only takes one, hopefully we can celebrate together in ten days!

Fingers crossed! Xxx

Hi ladies, congratulations on your transfers.

I got one top quality on board and another 4 of the same grading to freeze. Could not be happier with it!

We also go a little video of the timelapse of the embryo developing which is amazing! Love it! Xxx
