If my period doesn’t fully come on soon will it affect my baseline scan tomorrow?

Hi all,

I have my baseline scan tomorrow for my ivf. I’m worried because I am only ever so slightly spotting. Doesn’t my period need to develop for the scan? I’m worried it’s going to be too soon to scan and things will get pushed back 😢 Help x

I was told for a baseline u need to be full flow on ur period x

I really hope it comes on properly before 8am tomorrow then 🤞 I’m so worried it’s going to be delayed. It’s all the time off work too which I’m panicking about as it is x

I was the same my clinic booked me in two dates and they said they’d see more when I was full flow x

I was a bit late for mine so the lining was still thick but they were still able to make calculations and the de cycle worked. They may advise you to wait a bit before starting the injections.

Thank you. I’m just worrying that they will ask me to come back in a few days time. I’ve woke up this morning completely period free 😢 x

My hospital do baseline scan at any point during your previous cycle. However, even if their policy is they do need AF to have arrived and they aren’t able to scan you this morning they should be able to fit you in when AF does arrive. They should be used to this happening.
