Gender scan: Find out what our little... - Fertility Network UK
Gender scan
Hi Gillyc1. Time to see if our guess is right! Diane xx
Eeeek exciting. I'm gonna check last pic and have a guess xxc
Awwwww goodLuck x seen the scan pic so beautiful 😍 xx
Congrats but I thought with IVF you know from the point of transfer what the sex of your baby is?
I actually thought that you are at liberty to decide which sex you want or am I mistaking
No, that’s impossible
Not in the UK! They can do gender selection in other countries!x
Hmmm not good enough, what then is the essence? IVF should offer one the opportunity to pick and choose what she wants.
I think people who have ivf are just happy they can finally have a baby it doesn’t matter the sex of the baby aslong as there healthy xx
People who go through IVF feel blessed whatever they have . It’s immoral to start choosing
Not sure if you're windng people up here but dont!! It's not about choosing whether you get a boy or girl. IVF is for people who can't conceive naturally....not choosing the sex of a baby. Most of us would just grateful for healthy baby! Not quite sure if you have grabbed the concept of why people need IVF!!!😡
Why would I wind people up? It's ridiculous. I have not said anything strange or out of this world.
If you have been following the replies, you would see that someone mentioned above that it was possible in some other countries, so the fact that couples are not given that privilege in the UK does not in any way make it immoral or too much a wish to have.
I am personally not particular about the sex of a baby, I am happy with any sex but out of curiosity I asked the question. Now I understand why some couples choose to get theur treatment outside the UK.
Please don't get me wrong.
It was me that gave the information regarding gender selection in some countries which is a fact. In the UK they have strict standards for many reasons apart from the obvious which I won't go into. I have followed the conversation....you said that you should be allowed to choose....read back your earlier reply to me. Oh and no I don't think it's a privilege to choose, it's a privilege that we can become parents regardless of gender!! I think we need to agree to disagree!
Some couples have treatment abroad not for choosing the sex of their baby but because maybe they have run out of options in the uk and it tends to be a little cheaper abroad
You stated “it’s not good enough”, & “what then is the essence?” For some of the ladies on here who have struggled to conceive for years (some more than a decade!!), making such statements is highly insensitive & offensive. I would strongly suggest that you think about what you type in future, to prevent you getting people’s backs up! 👍🏼
Good luck! Exciting!xx
Ooh That's exciting glad all going well will look out tomorrow to see which you are having 😄
