Due to start my first round in a couple weeks. For anyone that who’s ivf worked first time I would love to hear from you. I’m so worried that I get 2 shots at this (1 fresh and 1 frozen) so it would be amazing to hear some lovely positive stories. Xx

My husband and I were so lucky and our first fresh ICSI cycle resulted in a BFP despite my very low AMH and male factor. Our little girl is 4 weeks old today and I pinch myself every day. Wishing you lots of luck. 🍀

How many eggs did u collect and how many did you have left at transfer day ??

I had 9 eggs collected which resulted in 4 blastocysts. I had 1 transferred (my daughter) and am extremely lucky to have 3 embryos in the freezer. Good luck wherever you are on your journey xx

Hi Kirsty. I had one funded round so was keen for it to work. We ended up with two 5 day blasts (1 transferred and 1 frozen) and one 6 day blast (also frozen). 7 had made it to blast but the others were not consider good enough to freeze so I was really disappointed with my numbers initially. Anyway, long story short, I am nearly 18 weeks pregnant with the one they transferred so I still have two in the freezer 😊 Good luck with your cycle, I look forward to seeing your updates xx

First timer here too 🙋‍♀️ Did our first ICSI cycle at the start on the year on a long protocol, got 11 eggs retrieved, 9 were mature, 8 fertilised correctly, 2 made it to day 5 with 1 put back and 1 frozen and on day 6 they froze another 2 (so I have 3 on ice). Currently 25 weeks pregnant and although I’m not enjoying pregnancy I can’t wait to meet baby (we don’t know what we’re having, big surprise!) We had all the tests done, mine came back ok, hubby’s morphology was lower than normal but he makes twice as many sperm so there was no reason we know of why we didn’t get pregnant naturally in two years of trying.....still in awe that they did better in a Petri dish! 😂 wishing you all the best for your cycle x

Good luck!!! My first cycle first transfer was a bfp at age 43. Unfortunately I had to terminate the pregnancy at 14 weeks due to severe complications and abnormality that meant the baby would have died preterm. Also my first cycle first transfer with my new clinic in the States resulted in a bfp first time and currently 20 weeks pregnant. My husband’s sister had ivf at 38 and again success first transfer first cycle. It can and does happen. As long as your Drs and clinic are trusted and reputable and you’ve both been thoroughly tested so no undiagnosed issues etc xxx

Thank you all. So lovely to hear some positive stories and would love to hear more if anyone else has any. It really does help and I need all the positive energy I can get right now 💕 Excited to start. So do they leave it 5 days before putting the embryos back then?? And see if any are strong enough?

Anyone else get a BFP second time on a frozen cycle? Xx

On my first fresh cycle I got 4 blastos. I got a BFP with the fresh one I transferred (my little boy is now 2) and froze the other 3. From those 3 I had a chemical, a BFN and have now got another BFP and am 12 weeks tomorrow. More proof it can work first time and also that there can be more than 1 good embie in a fresh cycle. Good luck with your cycle.

I have had a positive result after our first round of IVF, feeling very lucky (although still unlucky we've hlgot to this place in the first place if you know what I mean 😀), I'm almost 10 weeks so still feeling nervous and my friend also feel pregnant with her first round of IVF and has a 3 week old baby girl. Good luck xxx

Amazing! Congratulations! How long had you been ttc for? X

It would have been 2 and a half years (almost). I'd conceived naturally with our first and after 2 years of TCC we did two rounds of IUI at the beginning of the year, which didn't work, and then IVF in May/June. I was having accupunture alongside it, which if nothing else, helped me relax. Good luck xxx

Oh and my friend had been trying to conceive for 4 years and IVF worked first time for her. Good luck xx

I'm currently 37 weeks (nearly 38 weeks!) pregnant after my first round of IVF.. Was completely in shock being told they think IVF was the way forward because of unexplained infertility and went through the whole thing in a bit of a haze but here we are, incredibly lucky!! Good luck with your cycle :) xx

There’s plenty of positive stories about IVF, and I have one too :)

First cycle with severe endometriosis. 1 - 5day blastocyst back in, 5 in the freezer!❤️

After months of tears and despair we are now 21 w with a healthy baby!

Good luck XX

Been TTC for nearly 2 years, was told IVF was only way to conceive. Heartbroken that I couldn’t do it naturally but my PCOS was to blame. I started the cycle end of June and today I am sitting here 2 weeks pregnant with my first IVF cycle (and one in freezer) It’s still very surreal and hope it sticks so we can have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

The IVF treatment didn’t bother me as much, scans, injections, EC & ET. It’s the emotional rollercoaster which is hard. I tested early on the 2WW and got a faint positive 8dp5dt. Wish you good luck and baby dust on your cycle x

Amazing. I also have pcos. Wishing you all the best. Did you find all the medication confusing? I’m dreading doing the injections x

It was a lot to take in but once I did the first injection the rest were a breeze. You’ll be a pro once you’ve done a few. The worst of the meds are the pessarys. Hehe. X

Hi,

I am currently 29 weeks pregnant after our first IVF cycle back in January.

We were lucky enough to be entitled to 2 nhs cycles, but only needed the one.

Ended up having one top grade blastocyst transferred and 5 frozen.

We are so grateful it worked first time but I still can't believe it happened for us!

Fingers crossed for you xx

kirstyblue profile image
kirstyblue in reply toMissb17

Congratulations! Like you, I’m entitled to one fresh and one frozen cycle. Absolutely praying it works first time! 🤞 How did you find dealing with all the injections? X

Missb17 profile image
Missb17 in reply tokirstyblue

I managed the injections ok, hubby did all the mixing then I did the injecting.

I think for me the worst part was the waiting to start treatment. I worked myself into such a state in the weeks running up to it -mainly the logistics of fitting all the appts in around work etc..

once the treatment actually started I went into autopilot, helped that hubby was extremely supportive though, he kept me going :)

xx
