Hi all

Update for you....just completed the 3rd of 3 EC's last Friday. out of five follicles, five eggs. Four fertilised correctly and we ended up with 1 x 6 cell, 2 x 4 cell and 1 x 2 cell. Not great but at least we have 9 frozen embryos to attempt at one pregnancy...

Next step, get the fibroids out.....We have a follow up meeting with our consultant on the 21/08 to refer us to the Portland Hospital in London. Anyone here had any experiences at the Porland in London. Message me if needs be...pretty please :)

Thanks, never actually thought I would ever get through three EC's but now with fibroid surgery looming sometime this year i.e. last quarter, the EC's seem like a walk in the park....hope that all is good with you

Egg collection in the grand scheme of things is the easy bit....you're so right!! I hope it's not as bad you suspect!! I'm just embarking on yet another transfer, nervous!!xx

Hi Yammie. Well at least you have a good selection stored for when you've had your fibroids removed. Obviously I can't comment on the hospital, but I'm sure you will be looked after perfectly. Thinking of you and good luck! Diane

Thanks Diane. I have two intramuscular fibroids so I don't know how they will remove them... keyhole, open surgery etc but really worried silly. EC are a piece of cake compared to the next step...

Nice one, Yammie. It definitely feels like an achievement. Was in the same situation as you 2 years ago. I had a 2nd ! myomectomy on the NHS, had six months to recover and then did a frozen embryo transfer. It didn't work for us but we will be trying again once my thyroid levels come down! Another wait but hope it will be worth it. Good luck.

Hi, thanks for the message. How was the myomectomy...was it open surgery, keyhole etc. I am kind of sick with worry at the moment. My thyroid levels are 'normal' at the moment but that could always change. Good luck with the next ET.

Hi Yanmie

(My reply seems to have disappeared. I'll type it again.)

My surgery was an open myomectomy with several fibroids removed. My consultant discussed the options with me beforehand. My fibroids were too big to do keyhole-some of them were 23-32mm.

Try not to worry. Just try to get as fit as possible beforehand as it helps with recovery. Also ask for a chat with your consultant :they should answer your questions and allay your fears.

Thanks and good luck to you

Good luck Yammie. Hope all goes well with the surgery

9 frozen embryos is amazing. Well done :)

Best of Luck for next steps xxx
