Some superstition, some serious...

Ok before I start waffling on - I know that a lot of this stuff is just superstition but it’s only like the placebo effect isn’t it? If you believe that it could work then it might just bloody well work!

So, I have a fertility bracelet that I’ve been wearing for a couple of months, some Wonder Woman knickers for Egg Collection Day and Super Woman knickers for Egg Transfer Day, orange socks for both days (I read that orange knickers are the go-to underwear choice because orange is the colour of fertility but I’d already bought my other knickers so I improvised) and I’ve been making my boyfriend make a wish on every eyelash I pick off his face (which seems to be loads by the way? They’re so long and dark too, I’m well jel) Is there any other little superstitions that I’m missing? I promise I’m a logical, level headed person (most of the time) but we might as well give everything a go eh?

On the non-placebo front, we’ve both been taking Well Woman/Well Man Conception tablets while we’ve been trying to DIY a baby but if that doesn’t work before August and once (fingers crossed) egg transfer happens and (fingers crossed) there’s a little embryo getting all comfy inside do I then need to take Pregnacare Actually Up The Duff tablets (I don’t know what they’re called, probs something like that though) instead of the conception ones?

Any advice much appreciated!

Hope you’re all well 😊💕 xxx

Lol... very well versed is what I must say right in the begining. See sometimes it's okay to belive in things at desperate situations which you'd otherwise probably just bash away as superstition. If nothing at least that's a way of telling yourself "all is well... all is going to be well". It's priceless to have that consolation and state of peace during the advanced fertility procedures... and who cares if it's orange socks or good luck pendant.... as long as it helps you though the and does not do any harm everything is logical. Pregnacare is what probably you're taking about, as far as I know they are Omega 3 supplements... not a "the success depends on it" kind of medication really. I know it makes most women feel like throwing up but adds that same extra hope. Sending you lots of good luck!

Aww, thank you! I totally agree, just because there’s no scientific proof behind something doesn’t mean it can’t help some way eh?!xxx

Hehe! I applied all this stuff too :). Another one is to have McDonalds fries straight after embryo transfer. Also, laughing after embryo transfer - I watched Friends clips on my phone. Anyhow, I firmly believe it all helps as it keeps you positive, and helps you feel proactive! Best of luck xxx

PS - I got my BFP so maybe there is something in all this....

Hehe! Glad to hear I’m not the only one covering all bases! Yeah, I’ve heard the McDonald fried thing too?! That’s a bonus eh?! Me and my boyfriend always like to have a laugh so hopefully we’ll have a chuckle on the day! Aww, thank you, and massive congratulations to you! 😊💕 xxx

I think what you are doing is fun. Fertility treatment can be stressful but laughing and having fun is also important. Good luck
