Has anyone had zoldex before ivf ? How did you find it? How long did you take it for?

Hi Hopeful, i had zoladex for 3 months before ivf. It was ok, as I didnt have periods for 3 months so was pain free. I had a lot of bloating and weight gain but generally I felt fine.

Hi cryst41 do you think it helped the process? I am on pill back to back which works well for me but it’s the shut down of fertility organs for a short period of time I’m intrested in as I have heard it gives your body a break and can reboot things fertility wise?

Hi Hopeful, for me I think it did improve or help my fertility process. I had a frozen transfer due to the zoladex I was given. I got my first bfp and now around 6ish weeks pregnant. I do honestly believe the zoladex helped. Could I ask why you are being given zoladex?

Hi Hopeful, I just had Zoladex for the past three months as I have adenomyosis (similar to endometriosis). I can't tell you if it has helped as I have not long started my long protocol IVF cycle - currently down regulating with Buserelin (longer than normal as they want to make sure that the Zoladex is out of my system). Consultant thinks it will give me the best chance. However he did say there is very research on it. So who knows. As for how I was on it... Fine really. He said the side effects can be really bad so I might not last the three months. But mostly it was just hot flushes for me, feeling a bit spaced out sometimes, and forgetful! Perfectly manageable though.
