Hi Ladies. How long did most of you wait until your 2nd IVF attempt? We had a total disaster during the summer and haven’t had the heart to deal with it since. Xx
IVF 2nd round: Hi Ladies. How long did... - Fertility Network UK
IVF 2nd round
I started ivf 4 years ago after finally realising that with no pregnancies after trying for 3 years that it is what I needed. The first 2 attempts were the ones I had the most time between as it was such a blow that it didn't just work straight away. I am now 12 weeks pregnant after my 6th attempt (3 in the last 12 months). And wish I hadn't left so much time between. Did your clinic offer you any counselling? It's always something I turned down but again, with hindsight, would recommend everyone takes.
Wishing you a speedy success xxx
Aww congratulations! Wow 6th time lucky. Yes I’m doing counselling through my clinic, not sure it works but at least I’m trying. Ironically I always knew the first one wouldn’t work. I only did it to prove my husbands sperm didn’t work. The 2nd round will be with donor which my husband isn’t fully on board with. Xx
We had a bit of a disaster with our first round, nothing to transfer but did a bit better on subsequent cycles. We still havent gotten that magical BFP and it was hard going again but not all IVF cycles are the same and you never know what will happen....sometimes there is no good time and you just need to take the plunge. I think I was 5 months in between but this was more due to waiting lists.xx
Thanks Cinderella5 ! I don’t know how you have managed to do more cycles. Where do you get the strength? The waiting lists are pretty horrendous too which doesn’t help. Xx
Oh good grief Ive absolutely no idea! Its helps being on here and have you ladies drag my backside through it all! We've had that rubbish cycle with no transfer, 2 OE transfers & 2 DE transfers so far and another one hopefully another soon. Not gonna lie, its getting tiring but at the same time I just keep thinking Ive got to be in it to win it!!xx
I waited 6 months after my first BFN as I was not in the right head space to try again. I lost a stone in weight, had counselling, changed my diet and started reflexology and had a BFP on my second FET this month.
You have to do what is right for you and what you think is right for your body xx
We only waited 3 months between our failed cycle and the next. Don’t get me wrong it was exhausting but we got our BFP second time round so glad we didn’t wait x
Hey there! I think you should go for it now. You have waited long enough. If you still want to wait then just opt for the clinic, waiting lists are long. I hope this time it works for you. Stay blessed!
Oh I know the lovely long waiting lists. You are right though we have waited long enough almost 5 years to do the first cycle 😳. I just don’t have the heart for it all after the drs messing us around. Still working on my husband to go down the donor route. Fingers crossed 2019 brings us abit of direction. Xx
I would suggest that you shouldn't wait. It's better to start again. However, see what your doctor is advising. I am sure they will say to start away straight. Also, see if you're mentally prepared for it. It's important to have the peace of mind while you opt for IVF. Good luck to you. I hope it works.
You are probably right the drs have said we could have gone straight after the failed 1st one. It’s just abit difficult when you have been consistently messed around by doctors. My heart can’t take it. They also wanted us to make a decision in 2weeks whether to go down the donor route 😳 As they wanted my Husband off his medication.
My first failed round was this December. I'm waiting for my January period to start again. Patience is not my strong suit and I hate not doing anything. I'm also thinking that my eggs are getting older (33) so I shouldn't beat around the bush.
However that's just me, do what's best for you 😊
Hi! I hope you are feeling better now. I am so sorry for your 1st failed cycle. Go for your IVF now, it's the right time for you. You have already taken a huge break now. Just make sure you are mentally and physically prepared for it. Good Luck.
