empty follicule syndrome (EFS)

Hi Ladies, I went for egg collection this morning, and, again, no eggs have been retrieved. I will have a discussion with my consultant in couple days to understand a little better the cause and what should be the next steps ahead. Did anyone suffered the same syndrome and continued treatment despite recurrence rates? Did anyone succeeded finally to collect eggs despite a EFS?

Hi Clementinedam. There are a few theories as to why this might happen. The main one is the timing of the hCG injection you are given prior to egg collection, which releases eggs into mature follicles. For this reason careful, regular monitoring is essential throughout a cycle of treatment, especially as you previously have suffered this before. Hope you get some answers. Diane

Thanks Diane for your reply. I trigger the HCG injection at the right time so it is still unexplained. My consultant. says that we will try another two cycle

of MNC and then reassess...

Hi Celementine, I am reading your post from some years ago, when searching for empty follicles. I wanted to see if you had found a solution to avoid/reduce the amount of empty follciles?
