So we have put in our referral for ivf and have our 1st appointment on the 20th July.
I’m excited and nervous. I just want some insight really into what to expect from this appointment and roughly how long it might be? My letter has no details in it just date time and where.
Thanks in advance

Hi, at my first appointment the doctor just went through the tests we had completed through our GP and discussed next steps. For us this was mainly further tests to see what was happening. Whilst I was there I had blood tests and an internal scan, but I was given the option for another appointment to come back if I wanted so I didn’t feel on the spot. We were there about an hour. X
this is kind of what I expected just nice to get someone else’s feedback and an idea of the length of the appointment just want a bit of an jnsight into what happens next I guess . Thank you for sharing xx
I think it depends on which health board you are with, at my first appointment we were there for 2 hours and we had to sign a lot of forms and they had to assess whether we would be suitable parents, we then got blood taken, weighed again and they just explained everything that was going to happen x
I am so happy for you. You have chosen the best way to have a child. It will take a long time. But the journey is very smooth and lovely. You will love to enjoy this time. But the thing is to be patient. And take care of your self. Follow your doctor properly. Because of your depression and your irresponsible behaviour will affect your baby. Anyhow, which clinic have you chosen? I am sure you will have a good time. Good luck. And congratulations in advance.
