My daughter is a poor responder so they upped her dose and she used to put a hot water bottle on her tummy while stimming. She now has a 2 year old and is 12 weeks pregnant. Is this your first cycle xx

Congratulations to your daughter, you must be a very excited grandma. Yes it is my first cycle. They said I had pco and therefore would respond really well. I’m really confused why I haven’t. Why doesn’t your daughter respond well? I’ve read all sorts tonight and reduced ovary reserve seems to pop up a lot!

Never explained why but she ended up being on the highest dose of gonal f. Sometimes it’s just trial and error for them finding the right dose. She once produced only 2 follicles so that got cancelled as did her first ever cycle with 3 follicles. Other times she produced 5/6 but last time she had 9 follicles with 7 eggs but that was after acupuncture. Please try not to worry, they will sort it hopefully next time xxx

Thank you for the reassuring words. How long did your daughter have to wait after her cancelled cycle to start again?

The very next month she started again and even when she lost her baby at xmas she was able to start again in March so not long at all xxx

Hi, I have Pcos too! And today I’m after my egg collection. On day 9 of stimming, my follicles we’re not growing and they had to put my dose up 3 times!!! And then dropped once too. I was worried to death thatt cycle will be cancelled. The nurse told me that Pcos ovaries can be really stubborn. So my day 9 was actually only day 5 for normal women without Pcos. If you have any more questions ask!

So thankful to speak to someone going through the same thing! What meds are you on, what dose did you start on and what did they increase you too? How many scans have you had and what days? Xx

I was on menopur, started on 150 (2 powders +1 water) , after 5 day scan they upped to 3 powders (225) as my follicles we’re all under 7mm 😒. Last Wednesday they upped again to 4 powders for a week. Today collected 14 eggs 🥚 so don’t worry our ovaries can be really stubborn to produce follicles. I had scans every 2 days ( Monday, Wednesday, Friday) as they were worried that I will be overstimulated. So 6 scans in total since I started 💉💉

Our situation is so similar! I started off on 150 for 6 days then the doctor upped me to 225 for two days as all my follicles except 2 were under 10mm. I’m on 300iu of menopur for another three days until a scan on Monday to see what’s going on. Congratulations on so many 🥚 eggs! How long were you stimming for all together? I really hope 🙏🏼🤞🏼 I respond like you!!! Thank you so much for giving hope!! Xxx

I started 29 May, and had trigger shot and last injections on 13th June (16 days all together) !!

She is lovely and so are they all. So is Jade x

What a difficult few days you're having. I don't have any advice or experience really but I have always done 225 on stimulation because of a low AMH (8 I think?). 1st cycle I did 225 Bemfola, 2nd cycle 225 Bemfola for 5 days then on to 225 menopur for 6 days, 3rd cycle same as 2nd and this 4th cycle was 225 Bemfola in the evening for 10 days (short protocol this time) responded similarly this last round to the previous round although my lead follicles were bigger this time round. Are you going back for another scan on Monday? Keep me up to date with how you're getting on.x

Thanks for sharing. Back on Monday for a scan yes feeling more hopeful after hearing about how other pcos women respond. Where are you up to now? Have you had egg collection? Xx

I didn't respond super well. I have some pco symptoms so they didn't stimualte me that much - during my scan I only had 3 follicles and my hormone levels were too high to up my meds :( we were panicking.

But then at egg collection they got 9 eggs!

Not sure how they managed it - but hope is not lost.

Best of luck!

9 🥚 that’s great! What point are you up too now? Xx

in reply toJhenderson

Had our fresh - BFN. Waiting for frozen in a few weeks!

I think quality not quantity is the key.

I am hoping for lots of eggs for you!! 🍳

Sometimes they have a growth spurt

Thank you. Good luck with your frozen cycle! How many do you have in the freezer? Xx

in reply toJhenderson

We got 2 good quality ones to 5 day blasto - which considering I thought we would get none was ok!

8/9 fertilised....

Praying this frostie works :)

Fingers crossed for you!!

Hi ... hang on in there as on Monday i had my progress scan and we were advised that cancelling might be the best option due to low ovarian reserve and two follicles at 9.75 ideally they should have been 12-13mm. We went ahead with EC on Wednesday and had two beautiful fertilised embryos transferred yesterday 🤞😇 our angels are on board, try to be positive 💕

Hey so I'm in a similar situation, at my scan on Friday i had one follicle at 17mm which I know is great, but the others I had were one at 12mm and 2 at 10mm which are small. My clinic have informed me that they want to do collection tomorrow as they don't want to miss my large follicle. I'm just hoping the rest have caught up a bit. This is totally different to my first round and I'm feeling disappointed but im holding out hope that the quality is good. My clinic don't seem worried at all and have told me it only takes one! Ive been keeping up with a hot water bottle to try and encourage them. Hope all goes well for you xx

Good luck with your collection tomorrow! I have a scan tomorrow so I’m hoping my follicles have got bigger. I have been feeling heavy or full down there so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. Let me know how you get on tomorrow. Good luck 🥚🥚🥚🙏🏼🤞🏼 xx

Thank you x I will have everything crossed for you that they are bigger. That's how I've been feeling, they must be getting bigger 🤞🏼 will do and let me know how you get in as well xx

Hi so my EC went as well as it could have done, it wasn't painful and I've not had much bleeding. I'm really disappointed that I only had one egg so really hope that it's a good one. My consultant didn't really have any answers for why this cycle had gone like this given I was on 450 menopur and he was going "to really and try to stimulate" me this time. Keep me update on how you get on today with your scan xx

I’m so pleased your egg collection went well for you. I have everything crossed your egg does well. 🙏🏼🥚🤞🏼 I’m scheduled for egg collection on Friday, I have three follicles one at 20mm one at 15mm and 14mm. I’m worried we might over cook the 20mm by Friday. I can just hope some more grow by then. He’s kept me on 300iu. Xx

Thank you. We are having icsi this time and I'm glad we are with just one egg. He says he's had two pregnancies this year where the ladies only had 1 egg each, so it's possible (but as I said to my OH, how many other ladies have there been with 1 and who didn't get pregnant!). So pleased your follicles are growing, that's great news and hopefully the others catch up. I know what you mean, that's why my clinic wanted me in today rather than Wednesday, I do wish my clinic would have given me some extra time but it is what it is. They all work differently and I suppose you just have to trust in what they've told you xx

We didn't ever get many follicles and I took ages to respond to the drugs - 20 days of stimming on average, However we got really good fertilisation and embryos from what we did get, which surprised them, so don't give up. We actually has success on the latest cycle where we went went natural modified ivf where we expected, and did, only get 1 follicle, 1 eggs and it was a cracker. 17 weeks pregnant now. Everyone is different.xx
