Well, I don't know if it was the high quality porn, the ambient lighting of the room or the comfortable wipe down chair at the clinic but my boyf got the results of his semen analysis back and it's gone up from 2 million per ml to 4.9 million per ml :) Granted, we know this is still really low but you've just being grateful for any small blessing eh?

So after getting the IVF wheels in motion and resigning ourselves to the fact that it probably won't happen naturally we're back to thinking we might just DIY a bambino. Yes, there's only a teeny tiny chance but I like to think of myself as an optimist! And, I know a lot of stuff isn't scientifically proven but there's something quite lovely about lying with my legs in the air after we've done it and watch him get in a huff about which way round my knickers go ('Girls underwear is so confusing, why can't it just have a front and back?' NB - they're not confusing, they're just normal knickers, bless him) and then put them back on for me before having to listen to my moaning about needing a wee ("How long now?" "9 minutes darling" "I really need a wee" "Just go for one then sweetheart" "I'm worried the jizz will come out" "You've read about it though baby, it said it wouldn't" "I know, but still...how long now?" "7 minutes darling" "I really need a wee" etc.)

We're obviously still going ahead with the IVF, I'm an optimist but not THAT optimistic, my glass is half full but not overflowing (unlike my boyf's after his jizz appointment, BAHAHAHA!) Our next appointment at the clinic on the 13th of June (bloods, counselling and family medical history), we're off on holiday at the end of July (we wanted to cancel and get on with it but the clinic told us to go and relax) and then, all being well (and if my period app is right) we should be able to start treatment at the end of August, exciting!

Oh, and if you're wondering how beautiful our relationship is, when the boyf got his semen analysis results he texted me saying 'Good news! Up from 2mil to 4.9. Get your knickers off, I'm coming home to sh*g a baby right up your fanny ;) xxx' And they say romance is dead? I bloody love that boy :) xxx

Great to see some light hearted humour amongst the treatment, injections and some many unknown. Well done on your result and enjoy your holiday 😀

Hi,

I had an email asking if I can give advise. I normally don't read the posts tbh as everyone journey is different, but something made me read yours & I have to say that your attitude is the best to have!! I'm 4 weeks from my due date after being EXTREMELY lucky to have success on our 1st treatment.

Our friends haven't been as lucky though & have now had 2 unsuccessful treatments (paid for abroad), she's been rather stressed throughout.

I do say that I believe what has helped us us that I wasn't stressed about it at all, we had already booked our wedding before we found out that we needed IVF and so I was planning that instead of stressing about it working, I also went about my days after transfer as normal & we laughed together throughout (his specimen caused quite a laugh). I also had just 1 embryo transfered where as they had 2 each time which listening to the medical professionals and reading about "one at a time" I believe it has some significance.

I say keep laughing with your partner & chill out about it... Good luck 😁

Xxx

Aww, congratulations sez! That’s lovely news 😊 Thank you! I absolutely agree that laughing in the face of adversity is the way forward and keeping busy and occupied is the right thing to do. I’m so happy that it worked for you and I’ll keep my fingers crossed it works for us too! Thanks again and good luck with the final part of your journey and the beginning of a beautiful new adventure 💕 x

Hey I just wanted to let you know that my friend’s partners sperm count went from 0 into the thousands and they got pregnant naturally. So don’t completely give up, it can happen xx
