Hi, we had our appointment with the GP today to investigate referral for NHS IVF. OH had semen analysis done before Christmas, which was all normal except there was a note at the bottom of the results about anti-sperm antibodies, saying we needed to be referred to the fertility clinic (who did the analysis!), the 'bound' figure was 40% but I'm not really sure what this means as there seem to be varying figures in stuff I've read online. In the previous semen analysis we had done (at a different clinic) there was nothing about this so I guess not all clinics analyse this factor? Feel like we've taken another step backwards as now we need to wait for another appointment to see the consultant instead of just waiting for confirmation of funding which is what we were hoping for but it's good to know more information I guess (always trying to find the positive!)

Experience with fertility treatment with anti-sperm antibodies?
Hi there, we have been through a round of IVF using ICSI due to my partner having anti sperm antibodies. Our cycle was a great success, all of our 16 collected eggs fertilised and we ended up with 5 blastocysts, one of which is due to be born in just a few weeks 👍🏼
Hello. We had 100% bound antibodies due to a vasectomy/reversal. I have low amh and only managed to have 2 eggs collected. We were successful first round and I’m now 37 weeks. Our clinic wasn’t at all phased about the antibody situation as they just “wash them off”. We were told that we even with that level of antibodies, natural conception was not impossible but we decided to crack on with ivf as we felt age wasn’t on either of our sides. Not all clinics test for antibodies, we had to specifically request it. If you have any other questions please PM me. I did lots of research when we got our result 11 months ago. I felt daunted by it all at the time so I know how you feel! Xx
