Collection tomorrow - anyone got any good book recommendations?

Hi, booked in for my egg collection tomorrow but have to arrive at 7.30 and wait for the procedure until 11!

Has anyone read any good books recently that might help take my mind off it? Need to download some new ones on my kindle!

So uncomfortable now, can’t wait for them to get these eggs out of me!

Thanks all x

Good luck for egg collection tomorrow!

I’m reading the new John Grisham, The Rooster Bar, if you like that kind of thing x

Thank you, I’ll take a look! X

“Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine” is good. A bit different.

For a very light read I enjoyed “the hundred year old man who climbed out of a window and ran away”.

And a book which made me laugh out loud was “Round Ireland With A Fridge” by Tony Hawkes.

Hope one of those suits. Do you have any recommendations in return?

Ah I’ve read Eleanor Oliphant, really enjoyed it! Will look up the others.

Really enjoyed The Cows by Dawn O’Porter, The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and The Mountain Between Us (the film was terrible but book was pretty good!) by Charles Martin

Thank you, I haven’t read any of these. I’ll look them up.

If you enjoyed Eleanor Oliphant, have you read Elizabeth is Missing? The two books sort of reminded me of each other even though they are nothing like in terms of plot.

Yeah you’re right. Reading Elizabeth is Missing at the moment but finding it a bit of a chore! Nearly finished it but haven’t loved it - hoping there’s a pay off at the end...

Also, should probably warn that The Cows does have some themes around pregnancy etc, if you want to avoid

Good luck for this morning x

Good luck for egg collection. I've seen The Cows and have been wondering if I should get it - perhaps I'll give it a go. I really enjoyed Eleanor Oliphant...too xx

What a great post and lots of great suggestions, I’ve never heard of Eleanor Oliphant but have just downloaded it to my kindle.

I’ve just read ‘Forget you had a daughter’. It’s a true story written by a girl who was caught smuggling drugs out of Thailand which she was only doing to pay for a ticket home and is about her time in the Bangkok Hilton. A bit rough at times but very eye opening if you like that sort of thing.

Good luck today xx
