Hi ,I am 44 years old woman ,with healthy ovaries ..etc ,18 folicule counting in the scan.

My partner had frozen sperm before genital cander treatment.his count was very low .His age was 50.

The Dr. at Wimbledon Create Clinic told us that our chances were less than 10%.

Does any had a.success history ?

Thanks .

I don't personally have a success story in your situation Hun but I wanted to wish you all the luck in the World. My chances of success with IVF were around 20% so not that brilliant either. I'm also older at 41 & we were extremely fortunate when our 1st cycle worked. I hope you are also one of the very lucky ones 😘 xx

I would say if you have a limited budget, you should consider a donor egg. we did after multiple failures and the joy of watching life grow from my wife has been amazing. Don't get hung up on using your own eggs. We were trying for years with my wife's own eggs and getting negative results each time. By the time she reached 42, we had tried over 8 times and spent a small fortune. It worked first time when we finally went with donor. Egg quality is everything in the cruel fertility game, we've lived through that.

If you can afford to do both, do that, but be careful not to keep trying at 44 and reach 45 with no viable chance of using your own eggs and a large amount of money gone. My wife is in perfect shape, her ovaries were perfect, it was me that was the problem- low sperm count, that forced us to go down the IVF route, yet although we started on IVF when she was 38, her egg quality was already inferior to the donated 23 year old egg we used that worked first time.

Get some counselling too, it really helped us. God willing once our baby is born, my wife will be just turning 43, we might give it a go with her own egg ( as our doctor said once a woman has a child, her chances of being pregnant again increase slightly) but with a child you love already there, that desperate need is gone, and of course you can also use a donor again.

Best of luck to you, don't give up xx

We were with City Fertility in central London near Farringdon. I heard great things about Create though, I think your in good hands - we were with City( known also as Gennet) as they are low cost and convinent where we worked. So much is down to luck , and such random variables , I’m not sure it matters. It does help if you have a plan and back up plan though - hope for the best , plan for the worst. From your partners frozen sample how many cycles can they use it for one ? If so you could consider using that for a donated egg and using donor sperm for your own. We used donor sperm for a cycle when I still had frozen sperm left- .

You have to really think all possibilities through- donor sperm is a lot cheaper and easier to get than donor eggs for example .

Talk it through with Create- think through all possibilities and see how you feel about it- and the practical side of stress, money and time - be brutally honest.

I wish we focused on just a child rather than spending 4 years and a fortune on insisting we use our own eggs and sperm- because when you see that scan and hear a heartbeat you realise how ridiculous and meaningless was. I speak with hindsight and everyone is on their own journey. My point is - it’s not the end of some dream if you use a donor and have a child , it’s a miracle you will love

I’m positive you will have a child , just don’t give up and be open to how you get there

Xxx
