Due to start Icsi soon
I'm at the start of our fertility journey and will be going straight for ICSI. Knew absolutely nothing about IVF and had Zita West's Guide to Fertility and Assisted Conception recommended to me. Found it very useful and easy to digest. It has also helped me get things into perspective, focus on my relationship and the importance of positivity.
Hi there, I agree with you - I found Zita West's 'Guide to Fertility and Assisted Conception' excellent and refer to this often. However, I have another three recommendations.
From patient's own perspective, I recommend Silvia Dunn's 'How to Cope with IVF', which was a very easy read and personal account of somebody who went through treatment herself.
'Trying' by Emily Phillips is a great, fun read - semi-autobiographical but makes the whole clinical aspect of fertility treatment a little lighter. It got some good reviews in the paper a few months ago and I enjoyed reading it very much.
For a more general overview of female health, I suggest Marilyn Glenville's book 'The Natural Health Bible for Women', which includes a section on assisted fertility but goes wider than that.
Try your local library as well, they will undoubtedly have some good books there so you don't have to spend your own money on buying books.
Good luck!
