OH family meal and don't want to go argh

So my OH's grandparents are having a family lunch at a restaurant (we don't hear anything from them and hardly see them but it's their birthday and they want the whole side of the family to join) they have also had a new great grandchild and I can't help thinking this is the reason they want a get together to welcome the new edition, that's fine and I'm happy for them but the new baby was born just a few weeks after my due date and a few weeks before my failed IVF cycle, also my partner's daughter was listening to something on her computer and I heard a baby cry my heart just stopped like I was having a panic attack I had to hide it from her I but asked her to put her headphones on 😢. We then had to purchase a baby gift and I'm like argh it's just so lush it should be for us.

Anyway, I really don't want to go but need to drive him there as it's too far for them to go at such short notice. It will also look weird if I turn up so far from home with nowhere to go but don't got there. I just don't know if I can cope with hearing him cry and home being passed around the table. I just don't want the anxiety of having to go to completely take over and I be in a mood all day and ruin it lol

I'm really stubborn, so if it was me, I probably wouldn't go!! Could your husband not make his own way there and say you're poorly? Xx

The way you described this sounds like you’ve got to go so I’m just sending you bravery and courage to face it- make sure hubbie knows you will be escaping as early as possible.

Failing that, feign illness today, and don’t go!
