Was told on our consent signing day that the preferred method will be ICSI. Has anyone had previous experience with this process and is the chance of success lower than IVF.

ICSI over IVF
My clinic only offered icsi as chances were a lot higher. My husband had low sperm motility so that was also our best chance. I'm now 13 weeks pregnant with twins! Do you have icsi reservations? X
No I just wasn’t sure if this was in fact the best option. My wife is extremely stressed over the whole process and is struggling to identify positives in anything , thank you for your reply.
I must say when I found out that the only real chance we had was icsi I was really upset and struggled to deal with it, but once I got my head around the fact that we just needed a little bit of help, the rest was a breeze! I've been a right loser and have plotted dates, icsi related activity and how I was feeling on a chart and the lowest point of it for me was being told we needed treatment. I can share it if it'd help your wife!
We had to do icsi because of my husbands dodgy sperm lol. It wouldn't have worked doing it the usual ivf way as his sperm can't penetrate the egg.
I think if the man's sperm is fine, then the chances are the same. But with icsi they actually inject the sperm in there and if that's what they recommended, then that's the best way. I had my transfer 10 days ago and my pregnancy test is positive, still have a long way to go though.
Good luck 🤞
That’s fantastic news happy for you. Suppose I feel a bit concerned as it’s my dodgy sperm lol that’s the reason for us having to do this process so I just wanted to make sure. Thanks for your reply.
Oh haha. Sorry about the dodgy sperm bit!!🤪 Icsi is definitely the best option! We've been trying for over six years and this is the first time I've ever had a positive pregnancy test, never even come close before. This is our first go, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it stays all good, but it is still early days!
Good luck. If you have any questions, I'll try and help if I can 💙
We did half and half; 4 out of 7 eggs fertilised with icsi and 5 out of 6 eggs fertilised with IVF. We got 3 very good quality blastocysts (out of 7) and at least 2 of those were icsi, so that worked out better for us. We don't have male factor issues. Good luck.
I'm currently in my 2ww with one of my icsi embies
Thank you that’s good to know and best of luck with everything
Hey we also had to have ICSI to improve our chances of our eggs fertilizing due to a sperm mobility issue. We had only got 3 eggs on our first round but they all fertilised using ICSI. I think the rate is 75% chance of fertilisation using ICSI.
In the end we had one little embryo to transfer on day 5 and it worked. Currently 20 weeks pregnant and all ok.
Wishing you all the best x
