I’m just about to start second round of IVF after two embryo transfers failed. I’m keen to find out if others have gone the PGS route and people’s thoughts on this route/ how useful it was? All the info I can find is ambiguous. Any help would be appreciated!

PGS confusion!
Hi, I’ve had PGD because of a chromosome condition that 3/4 of my hubbie’s sperm carry. My clinic also did PGS on the embryos at the same time. We had 4 embryos tested and the PGD ruled out two, then PGS ruled out one of the remaining embryos. The remaining one was put back and I am now 6 weeks pregnant. My previous two rounds of ivf with no screening both failed.
However, we only had the PGS because we didn’t have a choice, it was part of the treatment (our treatment was nhs funded) and I have had some moral qualms about the fact that the embryo that was ruled out by PGS *may* have been viable (we know that the ones ruled out by PGD would never create a live birth). Personally I wouldn’t terminate a pregnancy just because the child might have disabilities and I feel as though in some ways this is what we have done, although we didn’t really have an active choice as, once tested as aneuploid, we were not allowed to have it put back. I know you are probably looking more for the stats on whether it works etc but I guess you have to make sure you are ok with possibly having to make uncomfortable choices if you do go down this route.
In terms of finding out more, you’ve probably already looked at the hfea analysis but if not, it’s a good place to start.
