So all is well with our little Baby, and it was amazing to see all the detail in the scan! It appears we have a thumb sucker 🙈 I’ve now been told I have partial placenta previa, I feel like I’m failing again, why can’t my body just do one thing right?? It can cause bleeding from 20 weeks which I’m now over so I know I’m going to be worried all the time again!!

Has anyone got any experience of this?

Hope you are all doing ok, what ever stage you are in!! Xxx

Beautiful scan photo! So clear. Huge congrats! One of my friends with both her pregnancies had partial placenta previa. She experienced bleeding both times throughout her pregnancies as a result. She also had to have c-sections. However, she was very well attended too by the hospital and never felt it was a negative thing or that it spoiled the pregnancy experiences. All the very best. Enjoy the last half of pregnancy. Before you know it you will be in the 3rd trimester!xo

You definitely have not failed and I was monitored for partial placenta praevia and advised I might need a section but all turned out fine sometimes the baby manages to get down below the placenta best to be in hospital once Labour starts though mine was a natural delivery and no excess bleeding so fingers X'd you will be the same at least they have identified the risk and Will be keeping an eye on you so try to relax and enjoy the wait to meet your little one x

Lovely pic Looby! 😀

I’ve got complete placenta previa and I’m now 31+3 - try not to worry. I’ve had no bleeds, I was admitted overnight in hospital a couple of weeks ago with brown spotting which they actually think was caused by a bad thrush infection. I’ve had nothing since 🤞

Although your more prone to heavy bleeds you don’t always get them, I’ve got a scan on Monday to confirm where the placenta is located although they scanned me when I was in hospital and said it was still covering by birth canal so very unlikely to move.

It’s reallt common in IVF pregnancies I was reading! Xxx

So does this mean you will have a early csection? Thank you i didn’t realise it was common in ivf pregnancies so feel a bit better now! I haven’t had any bleeding yet which I thought was a good sign but she said it can start from 20 weeks which then made me feel worse!! Thanks for your advice tho x x x

Yeah they’re saying I’ll need a section although it won’t be confirmed until after my scan at 32 weeks.

They take the issue really serious so your in good hands don’t worry, the spotting I had was so minimal and brown and they still kept me in overnight just to monitor so they definitely don’t take any chances.

Xxx

Hi Dear!

Let’s keep the fingers crossed because I am aware that losing a pregnancy in the second trimester can be disheartening. One of the causes of such a loss is fetus demise. Studies show that about 2-3 % of pregnancies may get lost in the second trimester. Of course, this rate is less compared to the loss that happens in the first trimester. It means that chances of a loss at this point are reduced. However, when it occurs, it is always sad and painful. It is painful because, at this time, friend and family members are already aware that you are pregnant. Everybody is anxious and looking forward to a baby. There are hopes that soon the family will soon have a new member. So losing the pregnancy is a big let down and may affect your psychology. Luckily, there are treatment options that can be sought to reduce chances of a second-semester loss. So if you are having any of the following signs, it is recommended that you seek medical help.

Bleeding- bleeding is a sign of problems with the placenta. It also shows that the cervix is opening without labor. As it opens further it is followed by the contraction which may expel the fetus.

Cramping- loss of fetal movement followed by cramping could indicate fetal demise. By the 20th week, most women will be able to feel the fetal moving. If the baby has been moving but stops, it indicates a fetal demise. It is therefore recommended that you contact a doctor immediately. However, if there is just decreased movement, it shows that there is a problem with the pregnancy and does not mean that the baby has died.

Fab pic Looby!! 😊👍🏻 my friend had this condition I think, is this where the placenta is lying low? If so it took her longer to feel the baby kick than others. It was her first and she was very worried but everything worked out just fine and her little boy is just gorgeous xxx
