Any midwives on here or medical people?

I want to know if a) I'm allowed a bath yet (I'm 7+5) and b) what's the max temp I'm allowed to have it.

Desperate for a nice soak in the tub tonight after my first day back at work and feeling shattered and cold but I thought someone said you have to wait until 12 weeks which is fine if that's true - with the scares I've had I'm so scared to risk it but if I'm allowed god it would be the best thing ever right now

I have been wondering this aswell ..I am missing a good soak in the bath but don't want to risk anything so sticking to a shower for now. I suppose a luke warm bath would be ok but I'm going to wait untill I see my nurse in 2 weeks and ask then x

Yeah people on a pregnancy ivf group are telling me it's fine, they have etc but with my scares I want someone medical to tell me it's ok (& even then I think I'll worry) have decided to do the washing up instead so at least my hands get a nice "bubble bath"

My nurse told me before my 2ww if it doesn't feel right and I have to question it then don't do it. Hopefully Diane could give u some advice but she is off for next few days. Xx

I’ve had a small Luke warm bath but wasn’t the same 😂😂 so save yourself lol x

Hi Waitingforourmiracle. No soaking yet please. Luke warm and in and out please. Leave the soak until third trimester if you can. Just my thoughts, so see what your midwife says. Diane

Thank you Diane - I will avoid baths all together then. Don't want to risk it and I'm still having lukewarm (well for me anyway) showers.

I appreciate you coming on and answering when you are on your holidays

I didn't have a bath the whole of my pregnancy as I read about babies in the womb not being able to regulate their own body temp. I stuck to warm showers just to be on the safe side x

I struggle to regulate my own temperature - I'm ALWAYS cold so definitely don't want to do anything to affect babies temp so will avoid the baths

Think I’ve had about 3 baths the whole time I’ve been pregnant think I waited till I was around 16 weeks before the first one. They are a god send when you have back ache but I only soak for around 5-10 mins as I find the water too cool ( I love steaming hot water but obvs can’t have the water too hot now) and find my bump gets cold as it’s too big to go under the water. The first bath I had my mum had to do the elbow test to check the water was cool enough as I can’t gauge it cid I’m used to having it so hot 😱
