Hi Ladies, I was wondering if anybody knows why one person's hcg blood test is sky high after a few tests and someone else's might be a lot lower but still increases each time? Does this mean its potentially a better pregnancy to term if someone has very high results/embryo has implanted better? in comparison to the person with lower results.
Sorry for the weird question. I have had 4 blood tests now and they have all increased each time but still not sky high. Im worried that something could be wrong.

Sorry, I don’t know the answer as to why they vary between ladies but my understanding is that as long as they are steadily increasing (I think double every 48-72 hrs) then the professionals are happy it is a viable pregnancy. Congratulations on your BFP!
Thanks Lynn, I am worried sick. My have gone up by the last number didnt exact double after the 5 days from the last test. My dr wont answer my questions when I asked should I be worried. Im googling lots and the more i read, the more Im getting upset as they say slow level rise are potential warning signs for a miscarriage or an ectopic. I feel awful. X
The fact that they’re increasing is a good sign. How far on are you now? I read after a certain point the amount they increase by slows down. My hospital don’t do bloods so I just have to wait. If your scan is on Monday then not too long to go 🤞🤞🤞
My clinic only do one poas and take the results from that. And have the highest clinic pregnancy stats in the Midlands. Try not to get hung up on bloods x
Thats what I dont get, why some clinics keep testing bloods like this and constantly worrying us. Thanks lizzie, trying not to get hung up on the results but its hard.x
Ha ha to be fair if you read the small print the clinics claims are qualified by “highest stats for x group” so I think several clinics claim the same based on different stats!
I only ever had blood tests to check my HCG on my last IVF chemical pregnancy. That test clearly showed my HCG was decreasing, so we new it wasn’t a viable pregnancy 😔
However my current pregnancy was natural... so I never had my levels checked & I just had to trust my body (eek!). What I do know is that every woman is different & women can have perfectly healthy babies with very low levels of the hormone. Try not to worry if you can, because there’s nothing you can do to change it... your body will do what it needs to.
Do you have your first scan booked? Hopefully that will give you something to aim for.
Morning wishfully. Thank you for your reply and giving me some hope. My scan is on monday but it feels like ages away. I know i cant do anything to change it. It just feels awful as i feel close yet so far. You just cant relax on this journey. Thank you xx
Try not to worry hun, you’ll prob feel better when you have confirmation at your scan on Monday. In the meantime try to relax and do things you enjoy. Xxx
I’m good thanks, been a bit emotional on and off all week... I’ve been on Anti-depressants for 7 years, I’ve been gradually lowering the dosage and I’ve felt ok mood wise... just a bit tearful and don’t even know why. Got appointment on Thursday hopefully start down-regging then. X
Hello! My clinic do bloods and they say as long as the number keeps going up then they’re happy. Ideally they want it to double every 2 days, but like everything with this it does not seem to be an exact science!!! Best of luck for Monday xxx
Aw thanks hun. You ladies have given me some hope. We cant all be precise and always accurate. My number has still increased and im going to try and hold onto that. Hope you are well xx
