Advise needed.

Hi everyone.

Please can anyone help me. So I got my prostap injection today, that’s fine BUT just reading on an IVF Facebook support group you have to have your scan while in your period after the injection. The nurse never said to me to call up on the day if my period for the scan. Can people tell me what they where told? Is it for different protocols or is this what happens and I’ve not heard the nurse telling me to call. Xx

I had my prostap on day 2 of my period 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ maybe depends on the protocol ur on x

Hi MrsMcCulloch, I’ve had my prostap injection on day 21 of my cycle and have a follow up appointment 2wks later - next weds! AF started 5 days later and I’m due a scan on weds to see if I’m good to start the hormone injections to do EC. I’m on a long protocol and this is my second try but 1st funded. I’d finished my period a few days before I had my scan. It was almost 3 weeks after I took the injection when I had it (though my research suggested that was definitely on the long end of how long you have to wait).

Thanks feeling a bit better now. Maybe I’m on a different protocol than her. Because this sounds like what I was told. Xx

I had finished my period when I had my scan. They just want to check the prostap has worked and your lining has thinned down to start meds to build things up. Good luck xx

Hi luv,

I had my prostap on the first day of my period, the scan was to be booked 8-14 days after the injection. As Cinderella5 said, it was to check the lining and set up the course of medicines. I’m on the long protocol.
