Has anyone else treatment gone up. My daughter will have to pay approximately £2000 more than she did last time. Before, we paid the hospital for all the treatments and drugs. Now we pay the hospital for treatment and pharmacy for the drugs. Only found the price out yesterday and treatment is starting around the 22 nd March. Gutted

Maybe shop around for the drugs? Apparently Asda pharmacy can be cheaper than normal pharmacy? Think they have a “no profit” agreement for ivf drugs. But I’ve never used them myself tbh.

I asked our local chemist and they were £163 just for the gonal f and they said they couldn’t guarantee they could get it :-( xx

Hi noodles! I’m going through first private FET too and I was quoted £240 from Asda for progesterone pessaries, oestrogen patches, and cetrotide injections for 5 days... I’m wodnering if they got it wrong or are you taking way more meds?

i’m on a shit load of progesterone, including crinone gel x2 daily which i think may be expensive.

too late in any case - it all went on the credit card!

Lol- yep- once the plastic is swiped no point in stressing about it.

I find this works really well while shoe shopping too ☺️👏🏻

Hi Gilly we had icsi and paid about £2000 in total for our drugs, but I was on the highest dose. I do think the clinic get the meds discounted as we got some of them directly from the clinic and they were cheaper than from the pharmacy. Not sure if it will do anything, but is it worth speaking to someone like a patient advisor in your clinic and see if there are any cheaper options. I noticed you went to a lot of trouble to fundraise for your daughters treatment so if you explain this, they might be a bit more sympathetic? I get the feeling these clinics are on commission because they often get funny if you ask to buy meds elsewhere. I hope you're able to sort something out xx

Thankyou, my daughter is on 450 gonal f so the highest dose. We have been quoted £163 per dose xx

Yeah I was on 450 menopur and that was £150 per dose so I guess not much cheaper 😟 I know the ovitrelle (trigger shot), progesterone and buserilin are all quite cheap so it must be just the stims drugs that are silly prices

How much were the other drugs xx

They didn't put the price on the delivery note, but after a bit of research and going by what I had to pay to the clinic I worked out that buserilin is about £18 per bottle, progesterone is about £2.50-£3 per pessary, ovitrelle I think is about £35. The menopur was £50 per dose of 150iu so mine of 3 doses per day was £150. Obviously depending on what meds your daughter is taking (different brands etc) there could be slight variations in price but I wouldn't think much different as they all do pretty much the same thing
