if my memory serves me we went to the Victoria in Sept 2015 then had an appointment at royal Dec 2015 and started treatment Sept 2016 so all in was about a year from initial appointment at royal..hope that helps know it can seem a long time. depending on your situation and with hindsight now I wish we had gone private earlier xx

Thanks. That's interesting what you say about going private.

I'm so worried about it all. Every day when I get in from work I hope there is a letter. Feel my life has been on hold for years, not planning anything too far in the future just in case we get pregnant and then also trying to save in case we have to go private.

I know that feeling😯you are in the system now which is good 😁you have to be patient very patient sadly but your patIence will have been tested to the max now. when you get to the royal for your first appointment that was when we went on to waiting list which was about 6 months.they should be able to tell you on your first appointment how long the list is..folk drop out all the time as they fall pregnant...hopefully that be you😁we are both over 40 so when we were put on list I was 37 which feels so young now which is why I wish we had just gone private..we have 2 failed attempts on nhs now have our first positive from private treatment xx

I'm 40 now too. I know we left it too long so we only get this one chance at this with the NHS. Wow great to hear about a postive result. I should really look into private route and be prepared. Thanks Vic77, hope it all goes well x

I’m not sure of exact dates but we were referred from GP in June 2015, we were first seen at GRI in November 2015. St that appt they said the wait list would be a year but we got an earlier appt as wait list was cut down, got an appt for June 2016. Icsi treatment didn’t actually start until sept 2016.

I remember at the time feeling that everything took forever which made me so anxious so if you have the option of going private I’d definitely go for it!

Hope that helps xx

I was referred by my GP in February 2017 to the royal. 1st appointment around May 2017. I had 6 months of letrozole. Another appointment in November, told I had to get my hycosy and make another appointment for 3 months. Saw the consultant in January who put us on the ivf waiting list. Luckily the waiting list starts from the date of my hycosy (which was December, but that's only cause I got it done privately). Been told the current waiting list is 6 months for IVF.

There is lots of waiting involved and it's very frustrating. The excitement every time the mail comes, the worry the letters been lost in the post. Waiting for tests, then results, then the consultant to explain the results, then more tests.

Depending on your circumstances you might or might not go straight to ivf. I had the letrozole, then they also offered me 3 rounds of iui. I had luckily insisted they test my AMH and that came out lowish so jumping straight to IVF.

In my opinion they do a lot of the testing backward I was on letrozole 6 months before they check my hycosy. Then they normally don't do AMH until you are on the IVF waiting list.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.

I would make sure everything is up to date before u go as it’s a waiting game and the wait between appointment is just as frustrating!

Have u had tests done ? Smear up to date ? Weight n stuff all ok , don’t smoke or drink (they test and if it’s over for smoking it’s a no go ) just make sure u are prepared 💪🏼💪🏼 good luck x
