Hey Hope - I remember from when you sadly lost your twin boys at around the same stage that I did (I was also 16 weeks - but was a little while before you). I completely understand how daunting it is and especially horrible to embark on the whole IVF journey again after such a traumatic experience and not surprised you're feeling a bit down and overwhelmed. Did you see a counsellor after losing your twins? I did and it really helped, and also saw one at the fertility clinic when going through IVF again which has been a godsend. What also really helped for me is meditation (the Headspace app is great), and also just trying to do lots of fun things to distract myself from it all (going to the cinema/theatre), watching Netflix, and also doing some sort of exercise (we used to go for long walks but it's not really the weather for it at the moment! or playing badminton). Catching up with good friends and talking with them is also great. I wish you lots of luck and am sending loads of positive vibes your way. xxx
Hey Cazza, how you doing? Yeah I started going to a bereavement counsellor from the petals charity which I think helps. You only get 6 session & I have saved the last session for the beginning of April when I know if I’m pregnant or not. The counsellor actually told me about the headspace app I have only been on it once so far though. I might try & pop to the gym a few times before treatment & maybe have a massage but I don’t know what sort of one would help. Shame I can’t fit in a summer holiday ☀️ I can dream! You okay? Xxx
Hello. Have you tried acupuncture? It really helped me relax at the start of our treatment. Best of luck x.
Hi Hope,
I'm so sorry to read about your story! This is very sad...and this must have been difficult for sure. i can't even imagine.
As said by others, talking is the key to feeling better especially to a therapist/counsellor, this helps accepting what's going on and move on!
Plus, of course, we are here to help, as we all felt bad at some point or another.
I started seeing someone last week and I can see really the difference after 2 sessions.
I was told also that acupuncture can help relax. I can't really say, for me, what works is going to the gym and taking walks to empty my head.
Find something that will work for you.
Focus on the positive too! And you are stronger than you think! You are going to succeed!
I'm sending you lots of good vibes and know you are not alone in this journey.
Keep us posted!
And if you don't feel ready, just potspone your treatment by one month... It won't change anything.
I was supposed to start my FET too in March. But was feeling so down last week that I decided to wait for April when I'm in a better state of mind. This is my call, I'm just sharing my experience. This is up to you, of course. You need to do what is best for you.
How many embryos do you have?
Good evening. Thank you for your reply & support. Yeah the counselling has helped me through the last few months for sure & walks with my friend but it’s too cold now ☃️ I think I’m going to get a massage at the weekend hopefully it helps Just feel all tense & need to feel more relaxed.
I have only one Frosty ❄️ & I think it’s good quality as well so I have everything crossed that it works.
I wanted to start treatment months ago but my consultant said I had to wait 6 months from me losing my boys. I feel ready now & in a way I’m glad they made me wait as looking back I wasn’t emotionally ready at all before & I definitely feel stronger.
Are you feeling better than you was? I hope so
. Xxxx
