I know this is slightly random but...... Does anyone else on the TTC journey buy baby things in the sales etc and stash them in anticipation of getting their baby?

I didn't as everyone told me it was bad luck. After a few years of trying I thought well it's clearly not good luck, so bought a baby grow a few months ago. I got my bfp this week 😬 I don't believe in all the superstition anymore. Do what feels right to you xx

Wow fantastic! Congratulations! X

I am so glad you wrote this post, i bought some baby cloths and bottles and hid them under my spare bed lol.

we have to keep hoping because I'm sure there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

you will be well prepared when the little joy comes around lol

all the best

Thanks for your reply. I buy things to sell but I kept finding myself keeping some back 'just in case'. My Hubby is really understanding and says to keep what I want and buy what I want. I could always sell it. Still hoping for a baby to put in them. X

i bought one tiny cute baby-grow, which i’ve hidden away. when i come across it i feel like such an idiot. i’m glad to hear i’m normal!

Sounds like we are all normal. I'm glad I'm not the only one doing it. I really think it's a girl thing like best building. X

I always thought about this but haven’t actually done it yet... I would like to look at it as optimistic rather than bad luck

Best wishes and baby dust ✨✨✨

Xx

Thanks. Same to you. I hope your dreams come true. X

I have two vests and two bottoms that I just hold tight when I pray. I bought them before I got my bfp as a sign of faith.I tell myself my baby will wear them this year.

Thanks for your reply. My first purchase was also an act of faith. I prayed when I was buying it and told God I will wait for his timing. I will keep you in my prayers. X

Before we got our first bfp last spring I’d seen this adorable little coat in M and S (while on the tww) so I’d promised I’d go back and get it if we had a bfp. I kept my promise. Sadly we had a missed miscarriage. With our second bfp I didn’t buy a thing. I had another missed miscarriage. I don’t believe in tempting fate but I just don’t want to buy anything unnecessarily. If I ever get passed 12 weeks I may allow myself to buy a couple more things but until then it’s also a painful reminder to have around xx

I can understand that. I hope you get your BFP and good health and when you go shopping it will be for your rainbow baby. Xx

It’s just so tempting isn’t it, all those gorgeous, tiny baby stuff and when they are on sale it’s so much harder to resist a bargain.

For self preservation purposes I don’t buy any for myself but I do live vicariously through my best friend who’s next baby is due next month.

As long as it doesn’t make you sad and depressed I don’t see the harm in it xx

Thanks for your reply. It helps me stay positive. I buy and sell baby things anyway so I keep telling myself someone else will enjoy it if I don't get to but I'm still praying we get to use it.

I hope your dreams come true. X

Glad I'm also not the only one who does this. However the past 6-7 months I haven't bought anything I've treated myself instead. I've boxed everything I bought and put in storage and will only open it when we have our baby whenever that may be. I have given my friends some things from there as they would get more use out of them now, but I've kept back a few other things that I wanted to keep. I thought I wasn't normal when I first did this but thought it was my way of coping and stuff what anyone else thinks. Fingers crossed we can open the box this year! 🤞

It seams a lot of us do it. I gave a lot away too but kept some back. I hope your dreams come true soon. X

I always go into baby shops and look at the clothes and wish I was in a position to buy them. So I’ve been tempted but never bought anything...

in reply to Beebeestar

I hope you're in a position to buy them soon xxx
