10 eggs collected

Hi

10 eggs collected this morning. I feel a little nervous, because last time I had 19 and only 7 fertilised and none made it to blast. I’m hoping that these are going to be better quality. I keep trying to tell myself that I only need one!

You absolutely only need one. I had 14 originally, that went down to 7 and then two made it to very early blasts. We froze one and used one. That failed and I got a bfn. My doc wanted to do a whole new round to get more eggs but I had a feeling about that one frozen blast sat there in the freezer, so asked if we could use it. We did and I am now 20 weeks pregnant. You see, it just takes one. Keep positive, it will happen x x

Hi Em2804. Well, that's not such a bad number, and fingers crossed there will be some beauties there. Just wanted to wish you well with fertilisation and transfer. Time to have a little rest now, and don't forget to drink plenty of water for a day or two. Thinking of you. Diane

Hey just wanted to say that I have just had egg retrieval and only got 3 eggs. Luckily they fertilised using icsi. Today I have had one good embryo transferred which is on day 5. Just wanted to confirm that you can get one good embryo from a small number of eggs. The other two are slow growing so may not make it to freeze however they were also good quality. I will wait and see but I have hope. Stay calm and I hope it goes well for you too.

I got the call today to say I have 6 embryos, which I am really pleased about considering last time I got 7 from 19! Massive improvement, hopefully that means the quality is better this round.

Hey, so pleased to read you’ve got 6 that’s great. I was going to say on my first cycle I got my eggs than my 2nd but my 2nd was better quality so keep positive. Wishing you lots of luck x
