Embryoscope
I used it for round one. I had 5 embryos and they phoned to say a day 3 transfer was needed -bfn
When I asked about the others under the scope they said they hadn’t looked at the scope pictures yet!
Didn’t opt for it this round but went for embryo glue instead -bfn
Do u think u would regret it by not having it? All I would say is it’s no guarantee. We decided no to any other extras and will put the cash towards another round xx
Hey I’m using it this time . I have read positive things and they told me positive stuff at the clinic but not sure how proven it all is . The reason I am doing it as they can monitor the eggs and see what stage things happen which may give us an idea of what is making it fail . Sorry if that’s not much help . I will know at the end of this week as I’m having my egg collection on Tuesday so i could let you know xx
I’ve just had my ET today and I used the embryoscope which was amazing! We had 5 eggs fertilise & mature from 13 taken out and the time lapse really helped them to chose the best one as they were all pretty similar but one of them developed perfectly.
If you have a good number of follicles and are likely to end up with several eggs, it definitely helps the embryologist to make the best choice. Make sure you ask for a USB as you can see it growing and they make a 20 second video for you so you can see how it’s developed!
We used it. We ended up with 5 top grade blasts. First was a bfn and the second two were bfps but sadly have ended in missed miscarriages xx
We used it and got a BFP first time so I guess it’s difficult to say what would’ve happened if we didn’t use it.
We asked the embryologist afterwards whether it had been beneficial and they said in my case definitely, because had a lot of eggs collected (26 I think) and a lot fertilised well so it helped them to work out which ones were really the best. Good luck for your cycle x
We used it..to be honest I don't know how helpful it was but I guess it gives them a closer look at your embryos. We used it on our 3rd cycle too as we wanted to throw everything at it..sadly we had two bfns since then so I guess I am not as yet seeing embryoscope as helping to select a fan embryo to get our bfp xx
We used it. We ended up with 1 top grade blasto, 2 decent blastos and a day 6 very good blasto. We were never told how they got to the grades they were but I assume they developed normally. Needless to say they transferred the top grade blasto and the rest were frozen. I got my BFP from the top grade blasto and we are in the middle of an FET trying for a second - for this we have been told that they have used one of the decent blastos but because of the way they were frozen they didn’t know which one they were defrosting (tbf the 2 were very similar grades so probably wouldn’t make much difference).
I guess what I’m trying to say is that in our case it was obvious which blastos to use when choosing so I don’t know if it was beneficial to us. However I don’t know whether the fact that they weren’t disturbed whilst developing made them a better grade and I’ll never know if it would have worked without it. The USB you get showing how your blasto has developed is fascinating though.
Tv watchdog looked into all these extras and said it was a waste of time.
We were meant to use it last year and paid for it and after when I asked about it they had forgotten to use it.
We got bfp last year with out it xxx
