Hi

I’ve been off for a while after a failed ivf. My journey so far is that I missed a period an got a positive result from drs an a home test.

Then at 6 weeks 5 days I’ve had a bleed with no pain it doesn’t feel like a period I’ve been to the early pregnancy unit an they have said it’s to early to detect anything an will need to have a blood test done to see my hcg levels. Has Anyone else experienced anything like this.

Any information will help.

hi sophia, sorry to hear youve been having a little bleeding, was this not an ivf pregnancy? i had a scan at 5 + weeks and was able to see a pregnancy with heart beat... also i had bleeds 3 times, 5 weeks, 10 weeks and 18 weeks if i remember correctly and everything was always fine in the end, bleeding dosnt all mean bad news so fingers crossed for you that all is well with your pregnancy x

Hi, this was a natural pregnancy. funny this was when the nurse said did you have a positive pregnancy test I said yes from the drs an of course loads which I did home.

They said they can’t say what the bleed is as they couldn’t detect anything an maybe it’s to early in the pregnancy. So need to go for a blood test. Can’t stop thinking the worst.

I miscarried at six weeks. They did an internal scan when I was bleeding and said they couldn’t see anything so got me to do a urine test which had gone to negative, indicating that I had in fact miscarried. They confirmed it with a blood test. I would say if the wait is killing you then do a Urine test tomorrow morning with your first morning wee. If it’s still positive then you’re still in with a chance. If it’s not then you’ll know. If it doesn’t feel like a period then that’s a good sign. Both my miscarriages came with cramps not dissimilar to period pains. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you x

This happened to my sister with all her pregnancies and turned out ok in the end. Some women do get bleeding I would say it's encouraging if there is no pain! Best of luck xxx

Hi.

Just wanted to wish you good luck for testing today. I hope you see a positive result and that your bleed is nothing to worry about.

I've also bled in the very early stages (at around 4 or 5 weeks) so I know how you must be feeling just now. In my case, both times turned out to be miscarriage but I'll keep my fingers crossed that this isn't the case for you. Ive heard that sometimes a bleed can mean no harm, especially if not accompanied with cramps so wishing u all the luck in the world.

xx
