I’m currently on my first round of IVF. I’m going for another scan tomorrow but it’s looking likely I will have egg collection on Friday. I’ve read somewhere that you should eat fresh pineapple in between egg collection and egg transfer, has anyone tried this or can you recommend anything else?
Thanks! X

I read that you should eat pineapple (including the core) on day of transfer and for 5 days after. I did first round, but I'm not sure if I will bother second round. I also drank Raspberry tea during injections and before transfer as well as pomegranate juice, I think they were both for lining.
Thanks Em!! Ahhh I was drinking raspberry leaf tea before we started but I thought it might effect me so I stopped! Definitely should have carried on! Ok so I need to get a pineapple ready for next week! Lol x
Yes I think that’s where I read it but I wasn’t sure! Yeah completely agree, if it’s not going to hurt it’s worth a try. I’ve given up lots of foods and cut out fizzy drinks etc whilst we’re going through this, it’s a small price to pay for a potential end result! X
I’ve read really mixed things about raspberry leaf tea so decided it was best to avoid it to be safe. Nothing contradictory on the pineapple though!! Good luck. X
Hi, I ate pineapple including the core for 5 days after ET, I’ve heard Brazil nuts are meant to help to. I also drank pomegranate juice and kept my feet warm. Good luck for Friday x
Thank you! Will definitely get some pineapple then! This is my first round of ivf so feel really uneducated! I hoping I get some good news from egg collection but we shall see! X
Oh don’t worry, you’ll get plenty of answers from everyone on here. Make sure you get fresh pineapple as the core is the important part. Just remember you know you’ve done all you can and I hate to be cliche but you only need one xx
Thank you! Yes I will do, do you know why it’s meant to help? Yes that’s what the Clinic told me, I’d heard so many people say stuff I didn’t need to hear. And when I went to the clinic the nurse there told me to remember; I am doing all I can, they are doing all they can, it’s down to fate now! It’s rang very true xx
It’s meant to help with implantation that’s why it’s suggested to only take it for the first 5 days following ET. Have you tried Acupunture? That’s another thing I really find beneficial xx
Thanks for that! I did have Accupuncture whilst I was on clomid I just found it did nothing. I didn’t get the feelings or anything from it. I have reflexology every 2 weeks which I find calms me down xx
For me , i never had pineapple throughout my ivf test . I read somewhere in google that pineapple can cause miscarriage so i didnot want to take a risk . But i am not sure its 100% true or not.
Best thing is you can ask your nurse and confirm before eating something that you are not aware of
I had fresh pineapple with core between egg collection and transfer but not after as I was too worried about causing an issue. I’m 9 wks today. Don’t know if it was that or acupuncture or just luck but thought I would share x
Hi first i hope all the best for you. Can i ask you are you doing in privat clinc or from NHS because i did everything in fertily clinic they refer me for IVF o fell the form online befor 5 weeks and i didn't receive nothing jet how long did you wait for ivf good luck for you
Hi, I am doing it on nhs! I was referred for IUI and had first round in March/April. That failed, they then offered me to go straight for ivf as I over responded to the drugs for IUI. I sent my form back in June of this year and they told me it was a 4 month wait for ivf. And exactly 4 months later they called me to meet to the consultant so maybe just call the Clinic and ask how long the wait is. I was told 4 months in my clinic and it was exactly that. Wish you all the best x
I had pineapple for the five days from ET and am now 9 weeks. I also had acupuncture, warm feet, Brazil’s nuts and pomegranate juice. Wishing you lots of luck x
